LPG Problem

My LPG has recently stopped working, at first if was just very sluggish and jumpy, this got progressively worse until now it doesn't work at all. The garage that did the conversion (6 months ago) insisted that the injectors needed cleaning which I have had done, still no better. They then said that my spark plugs must need replacing, again, this was done but there was no improvement. To say that they are not interested would be an understatement Has anybody experienced this? Or any suggestions as to what it is?

I've not experiened this personally as both my installer and installation were A1, however, I have read from several LPG users about their installers turning their backs when things go wrong. most done, a few do - which unfortunatley tarnishes the industry some. As for what the problem is, I'm sure one of the very knowledgable installers can help you out more with your LPG problems.. Rich

When I had my initial install the car was in and out of the garage with problems. I believe this was down to a poor install, made worse by the porous block on the engine. Had a new short block fitted by the same garage and the LPG system re-fitted which made it worst. Plumbing was incorrect so the Vap kept freezing, faulty multi valve, engine management system was rubbish, wires shorting. It was a nightmare. Eventually had the system taken out again and re-fitted by another garage. You could see the difference in quality of workmanship straight away. Several years on I have the odd hiccup, but generally works well. Thumbs up to the garage that re-fitted on the job and after service. I had not seen or spoken to them for a couple of years, had a problem, phone call from the other side of the country and sorted. It is true to say as with everything the minority tarnish the reputation and forums like this only tend to get posts when people have problems so the good installers rarely get a mention. Damian

How much did it cost to have the sytem re-fitted? Having spent £1800 six months ago, my break even point is still a distant dream so am hesitant to spend more money I desperately need to get hold of the software for my system (Zavoli) so my local LPG guy can link it up to his computer and tell me what the problem is!

I seem to recall it cost about £280 including a new Leonardo ECU. So all in all having the LPG system fitted, new engine and re-reffited LPG it cost me about £3,000.00. Just because a company is an LPGA member does not at all mean you will get a good conversion or good after sales service. The after sales is what I given my company a very good reputation in both the local area and in the volvo clubs. We like to have a car for normaly a week and we belive in doing a few miles cold starts etc to make sure a customers car is A1. Amoungst other software and programming equipment I do have the Zavoli stuff for sevicing some local customers. Mike

Sounds like fuel is not getting through-cud b your vapouriser,I have wired an LED via 1000 ohm resistor to injector 1 on gas and injector 1 on petrol and both LED's match signals-but I would know straightaway if there was an electrical problem on gas-if you are competent with electrics I would recommend this for fault finding but wiring it up might invalidate your warranty
