Re: help with fitting stag 300-6 injectyors

#1 Post by lazydocker »

The wiring loom is numbered 1-6 for both the interrupt plugs and the injector plugs. Every Stag loom I've seen had them numbered 1-3 on one bank and 4-6 on the other. I tend to leave them like this instead of changing them around and use 123 for cyl 135, 456 for 246 (talking about V6 engines here).

As long as you use the same numbered interrupt on the same cylinder LPG injector it will be fine. The Stag wiring loom is available to download on the Stag website or here: http://www.motogas.com/software/ENGSTAG ... manual.pdf

As a bit of advice, I have seen one Stag loom with the numbered clips on the wrong wires, so worth checking them

The wire with the trace always goes back to the petrol ecu. Corresponding colour without a trace to the petrol injector.

He's already answered that one.....

Cut the negative, connect the plain coloured wire to the cut end going to the injector and the wire with the trace colour to the cut end coming from the petrol ECU.

Try to do a continuity test. Unplug 2 injectors and set your meter to beep. Hopefully (not always) you will have one wire with continuity across the 2 pins on the two plugs that you have unplugged.
The other wire is your negative, the wire you have to cut.
If you have a look you should have one common colour on all the injectors on one pin. Unfortunately, again not always.
The only real way to tell is with a noid light or a power probe and with the engine running. If you don't have one then a meter will suffice, as long as you understand the instructions !

Yes that's right. The 'common' wire is the positive. The other wire is the negative. Which is also a positive as you found out originally. :D

To explain. It isn't a negative wire, it only goes fully negative when the ECU sends a pulse to open it. The rest of the time it will be pulled high so when it does switch there is a nice sharp transition rather than a vague pulse.
