Or the gauge has never been calibrated and it always reads 4 LEDs no matter how much, or little, there is in the tank.......jdavis986 wrote:Saying that I drove 100 miles home and didn't even lose one light on the lpg led indicator (there are 4 green lights) so good fuel consumption

Oh that's just the LPG ju ju bird ! That's quite normal, we have to put up with that, it's just part and parcel of owning an LPG converted car......jdavis986 wrote:I bought the car but I feel stupid now because during the test drive he had the radio on, I never thought about it really, but since buying it and driving off Im hearing these weird noises from the lpg tank in the boot, every time I press the accelerator it makes a little noise almost like a bird tweeting- surely that's not normal? ?
(No it's not normal....)
Re: 05' corsa life 1.0 with lpg tech... should I buy?
So its normal? ?? That's great news, what a relief
Re: 05' corsa life 1.0 with lpg tech... should I buy?
No it's not normal. You've obviously not been here long enough to have cottoned on to Tubb's warped sense of humour. Don't ask me what is causing it though as I've no idea but I'm sure somebody will.

Re: 05' corsa life 1.0 with lpg tech... should I buy?
It might be something as harmless as the float arm squeaking as the fuel sloshes about.

Re: 05' corsa life 1.0 with lpg tech... should I buy?
Are you sure it isn't the lpg injectors you can hear operating? (they wouldn't be in the boot but mine have always made a chattering sound) Does it stop if you switch it to petrol?
Re: 05' corsa life 1.0 with lpg tech... should I buy?
Sticky solenoid, manual shut off valve turned in a bit, burr on the pipework or squeaky float arm.
Re: 05' corsa life 1.0 with lpg tech... should I buy?
I geuss i really want to know, are any of those problems serious, i.e. if i just put up with the noise will everything be ok, or should i get it sorted as it could deteriorate??
are there any 'experts' in the east london area who could help diagnose the problem??
by the way, it's definitely coming from the boot (i'm almost certain anyway)

Re: 05' corsa life 1.0 with lpg tech... should I buy?
It may be the boot lid and actually nothing to do with the lpg at all. One of the mondeos I've had makes a similar sound as the rubber stops have aged and don't put up as much resistance as they once did. Can you get anyone to sit in the back with the parcel shelf removed and see if they can narrow down where the sound is coming from?
Re: 05' corsa life 1.0 with lpg tech... should I buy?
I'm going to record the sound and put it online so one of you can have a listen...ill put the mic in the boot
also, i've noticed i can smell gas just when the lpg comes on and if i have my warm fan on in the car- that's a bit more worrying no?

Yes it is worrying (or it would worry me if it was my car!) the only time you'd expect to smell gas is on refueling. I'd either get someone to look at it or see if you can locate the leak yourself.jdavis986 wrote:I'm going to record the sound and put it online so one of you can have a listen...ill put the mic in the boot
