Stag 4 eco

#1 Post by philleyb »

Hi i have just had my old stag 300 system replaced with a new stag 4 eco. kit included Reducer TOMASETTO Alaska(up to 88KW/120KM)
Valtek injector rail 4-cyl.cables, LPG Level sensor WPG2 , mapsensor, computer,
software , the filter of volatile phase.
two problems the software ac gas syncro vers 9 will only display in polish(have emailed the vendor) and it keeps cutting out during the calibration . if i switch over to gas manually or via the software the car just cuts out. i removed the filter and there was no gas smell. what could stop the gas flowing the only error message i've managed to translate is pressure too low. i've turned up the pressure on the vapouriser but this has made no difference
i have a mercedes c200 1998.
All help appreciated petrol will see me on skid row in a couple of weeks.

If there is no gas flowing, it will report low gas pressure. No amount of adjusting on the vaporiser will change the pressure if it hasn't got any gas to it in the first place! When you changed the front end, did you turn off the manual valve on the tank? Have you turned it back on? Is the tank solenoid, and others, clicking in?

The first thing is ... You changed a good ECU to one of the poorer!!
faster, cheaper and better it would be upgrade old ECU to 300 ISA2 - is a lot more possibilities in programming!!

in software ac gas syncro click on the icon "jezyk" in the top left corner of the bar - there you can change the language.

Not much of a fitter if he gave you the car back not running on gas.......

First question has to be why did you change the system?

i got it fitted by my brother but he was on a time limit and lives a long way away. he does the mechanical and i've always done the programming on cars he converts normally he's around for the whole lot but not this time. we changed the unit as it kept giving faults and no lpg place could resolve it and it was old when it ran it was sweet but it just kept giving random faults with signals from the injectors, pressure etc rough idle one week switching to petrol under load and losing an injector but all the cables proved good so we changed it.was hoping it might be something simple that i could deal with, without having to do a 360 mile round trip again.

yeh I've had that too, no matter what language you've previously set it changes to Polish and hides all other options under 'jezyk'. Interested in the solution!

Why would firmware affect PC software language options? It didn't work anyway, at the time.

If the firmware is a polish only version then the software when connected would only be in Polish

notice that with each new PC software, comes a new firmware! So as you will be using a new ac synchro 9.xx and old firmware 8.xxx can lead to incompatibilities!

firmware it is a program written for the microprocessor control of gas, used in the algorithm is tested all the time, this makes the software more stable.

you can also report a problem to the customer service, I'm sure they'll take it into consideration and and fix the problem in the next update- therefore, it is recommended to update software!

philleyb To turn on the system manually you have to do autocalibration!!

probably made a mistake when I connect Injection, check correctness of the cables connecting (Pb injection nr. 1 and LPG injection nr.1 , and rubber hose injection nr.1 - cylinder nr.1) - one after another.

Even though the software is in Polish, you should still be able to see what is happening, even if it is in a strange language. When you start the car on petrol, is it showing you an rpm and temperature readings? If it isn't seeing the rpm it won't switch the gas on as it thinks the engine isn't running, if it can't see a temperature reading it may not switch the gas on as it thinks it is too cold.

So you can work out what it is telling you, try putting the headings into Google Translate so you can at least figure out what each reading is showing.

The ECU firmware knows nor cares nothing about display language - that's a PC software option.

A supposed diagnostic that forces firmware update before it works properly is just plain broken.
AC software is generally good about reporting if you connect it to something incompatible, so if some inter-operable compatibility is behind the language issue I'd say its an unintended bug.

On the face of it the answer would be to try older PC software version ...

how it really works ...? No one will tell you this because it's confidential information, and an opinions on this subject is as much as is garages! :)

I think that we should not discuss who is right, just concentrate on the solution of this problem. :D

philleyb Connect to the acsynchro, start your engine and make some "print screen" what you see - paste the pictures on the forum, then it will be easier to find the problem... :D

It is possible that when the software reads the settings from the ecu they also read a language variable and therefore can force the software to be in what ever language they want it to be and also stop any user selection by using the firmware, this then makes grey imports difficult because the "polish" ecu would only be in the native language where as "eu" version sells at a higher price and the software is then the same for all.

Seen this done plenty of times with other devices, although sometimes you can flash different firmwares, if they have different ones for poland and eu etc...

But you are right, in that the language shouldn't be connected and should be selected from software only...

Hi i have put a new level sensor on it re wired it as it seems the old stag 300 had the multivalve, temp sensor and the level sensor all together. having done that and got the gas pressure up to .97, i can't get the gas temp up to 50 in order to get the software to do its thing.the reducer temp is at 95 but the gas starts at 30 and peaks at 43 it goes through the process but cuts out around the time its doing the 3rd injector. also the temp only goes up when i go through the software process getting a little further each time.
