Very very good figures on the S-max there, only costing you 8p a mile. What MPG do you get on petrol?herbertpug wrote:£10 LPG - Miles

Re: How far do you get with LPG? eg. How many miles for £10
i can only dream of the prices i have seen on ere!! cheapest i have found ere in n ireland is 73.9p......
Vauxhall astra 1.6 vvti, 115hp, Bigas sgis-n obd kit fitted by me, 42mpg on petrol, 34mpg on gas so pretty much bang on the 20% reduction i was expecting,
All said its bout 9.5p per mile which is still a big saving over the 2.0 tdi audi a3 i had which was bout 13.3 p.p.m
With the miles we do in the yr being 20,000 it'll work out about £700 cheaper over the yr than the audi, couldn't be happier with that, well would be happier if i could find somewhere selling lpg at 65p.....

The tank can only be filled to 80% of its maximum rated capacity to allow for expansion of gas (especially in hot weather) there is a cut off valve which prevents fill above 80%.
I like the chevrolet cruze, looks a nice car

1.6 and on 50 liters i got 290 miles
There's something wrong with your installation if you can get only 290 miles on 50 litres with 1.6 engine.

Agreed, I used to get between 190 (around town) and 260 miles (on a long run) from 46 litres on a 2 litre Saab 900.

It's still way, way too much... I suggest you to go to whoever converted your car and ask to get it done properly.im normally motorway travelling and is around 80 -90 mph

Re: How far do you get with LPG? eg. How many miles for £10
maybe not, it depends how hard the engine is being pushed, my 1.8 berlingo show 3000rpm at 70mph hence i sit at 60mph on a motorway as at 70 it drinks it bigtime.hardcorepit80 wrote:It's still way, way too much... according to parkers a cruz should get 40-ish so maybe 35-ish on gas
290 miles from a 50 litre equals 26mpg which pretty decent for a 1.6 at 80-90 mph.

I would suggest you have your valve clearances checked regularly, as it is well documented that Honda valves are made of Liquoricehardcorepit80 wrote:It's still way, way too much... I would just like everyones experience of LPG VS petrol....
Could you state your car + engine size and how far you get with 'X' amount of gas....
Thanks
I am not sure what car you drive or the size of the engine is important,if you want to drive a petrol car no matter what it is you will get about 40 percent saving running lpg, given a 4 cyl conversion costs about £900 6cyl £1100 and 8cyl about £1500,just how much mileage you do will affect the time it will take to get this cost back, from my own experience it took me 18months to get the conversion cost back,so if you change cars often then it may not be cost affective to have lpg.
Just what system you fit is again a matter of choice but no matter what one you choose there is a hidden cost with these new systems unlike the old ones which used to change to lpg very quickly after starting you car the new ones take at least a mile or two to change this may not sound much but using petrol on choke is no laughing matter if you want to save money,so I would estimate at todays prices you will put about £70 of petrol a year, again it does not seem much but take a vectra c I had I used to put £30 a year.
