Moving the tank

I got a 92 Hi'ace VAn.
It has a mixer on the carby, VAP is a BRC which is positioned under the car in the transmission tunnel on the passenger side.
The tank is in the far back of the van on the passenger side, the filler has been drilled through the lower rear panel on the passenger side.

I want to move the tank behind the drivers seat along the side of the van.
Whats the legal and best way to run the gas line to the VAP, and i would also like to keep the filler where it is as its been drilled through the panel.
What should i do? where should i run the lines and filler pipe???

So i was thinking of making the filler line go from the rear left quarter panel across the dif housing area,just past the right hand side wheel and then into the tank.
The tank/VAP line would go from the tank exit near the right rear wheel ,up to the gearbox tunnel, across the tunnel and into the VAP which is in the left hand side gearbox tunnel.

Cmon installers surely there is a best way to route the pipes?

Sure. It depends on the vehicle, the tank, where you need the plumbing to end up, the rules you have to meet (I understand Oz has fairly strict rules), and the materials you intend to use (copper,plastic,rubber?). I've never done a 92 Hiace.

What do you want people to say?

You have to comply with the local installation rules of the country your in, so we could tell you what the UK guide states but in Aus it could be a complete fail.

Common sense should tell you where you can and can't run things, so liquid lpg and vapour pipes can't be cable tied to the exhaust, the tank should be secure with a good amount of strong fixings, again this is down to the rules of aus, and if they want one strap or 5 straps, what the thickness and width of the metal straps.

Also without seeing the vehicle I and prob most people wouldn't have a clue where your running the pipes so where pretty much stuffed to be able to say you can't run or put the tank here or there etc...

Sorry mate, but your pretty much on your own unless there is an Aus installer on here!

Yeah i understand that most of you guys are UK based , but the forum is a world one(even though it is a.com.uk)
I would suspect that the rules are the same in every smart country.
I guess my main concern is crossing the pipes over the transmission lines.
I have had a look under there and there is a good section across the middle gearbox( common sense tells me that it not allowed to go across the drive shaft or any part that has movement.
I spent a while looking for an install spec sheet in Aus ,but only found vague PDF with common sense generalizations.
Another area is how to plumb a filler tube through the diff section, common sense tells me to avoid the wheel wells and keep the pipe above the flat area between diff and floor plan , so i would be looking for some body frame angles.Or i need to make a shield for the cross sections over the transmission lines.

apparently i am looking for information on doc AS/NZS 1425 , which is the install standards for Aus and NZ, but its not available online.

While the forum may have worldwide members, I've only ever seen UK based installers post on here. As Simon says, without knowing what the specific regs are and what the vehicle looks like, we can't help much. You could install following the UK code of practice and it might meet the Oz regs but it might not. Don't they have a rule about only certified people being able to work on gas systems?

I'm not convinced that is a true interpretation of their rules ... but ... what counts is the official tester's interpretation.

LP Gas Code, AS1425). In New South Wales, one of the requirements for LPG installations is that the
installer must fit an identification plate (“compliance plate”) to certify that the LPG system met the
requirements of the code when it was installed."

I think a bit more homework needed yet, and perhaps a word with your insurers?
