How to get up to date LPG stations on the move?

Hi Guys,

I have a HTC HD desire running android but have yet to find an app that works, downloaded two apps but shows no stations round by me even though there is around 10.
When I want to travel around, how do I find an lpg stations using my smart phone? I often use the google sat-nav on the phone too.

That's good news, we need an app for android. I've just been out of town & ended up on another wild goose chase looking for LPG. I tried to use your website using the Internet on my phone but couldn't actually click the flags to show me the name & address of the station on the map for the sat-nav. Tried to use another website called lpgmap.co.uk & it wouldn't load up properly. I also have two other apps on the phone that don't pick up any station, even though you know they are there like your local ones, so they are useless.

I made it home still with one light on the dash but if I'd been in my old rangie, could have been a problem as it only runs on gas & doesn't' have the range of the Audi even though it has a bigger tank.

The map barely runs on a desktop PC! (I'm in the process of redesigning it)

There's a makeshift mobile version at http://www.filllpg.co.uk/mindex.php which you can type a town or postcode in and get a few local stations (if there are any). It's not being developped any more as the apps will be able to do a much better job, but it might be useful none the less.

I might look in to developping an HTML5 mobile based application thing at some point, but it will only be for very basic features.

there is a web application routeCngLpgFinder running in a browser of a PC (use Firefox, IE is too slow). This application calculates a route and searches for LPG or CNG stations along the route within a maximum distance from the route. It supports 16 countries with LPG stations and 12 countries with CNG stations in Europe. UK is included with LPG stations.
The application can be accessed at:

This application was ported to the Android app Cng/Lpg Finder. It may be downloaded from:

The information of a gas station consists of location, name and optional additions as gas price, opening hours and payment mode (cash, credit card).
Cng/Lpg Finder lets you navigate from your current position to a selected gas station, if Google Maps Navigation or Navigon (since 3.5.3) is installed on your smartphone.

Each version of Cng/Lpg Finder is delivered with actual station data.
With the Plus version the station data can be downloaded from the web.

You may contribute to keep station data actual by online updates.
You must be registered at:

Click on "Als neuer Benutzer anmelde" at the top right side.

Price updates can be done by selecting:

In the menu bar at the top of the page select LPG/CNG Routenplaner.
Select a route, select Great Britain in the country box and click "Show gas stations".
The gas station are listed in the left column.
Click on the blue link of the station you will update".
Click on the marker of the station
An info window opens.
Click on "details".
Click on "Datensatz aktualisieren" at the bottom of the page
Modify the price and click on the button "Abschicken".
That's it.

Hope some people consider the apps as useful.

I can't make it work myself but where does it get it's data from? Very few existing search sites are accurate.

The PC version gets the station data from http://www.gas.tankstellen.de.

The Android versions are shipped with station data

Managed to get the pc version to work but as I suspected, it is hopelessly out of date. This is a screen dump of the stations it shows in my area

4 stations are missing and of those that are shown, one hasn't sold LPG for at least 5 years, one never has sold it and three are shown in the wrong place. Not a reliable resource I'm afraid which is why Richard started http://www.filllpg.co.uk which is accurate.

I am aware, that many station data for UK are not up to date. That is the reason, why I posted it in this forum in UK, hoping that some people will update the station data, as described in my first post.
Hopefully people in UK can manage updating, even if the update page is in German.
If it is not quite clear, pls. send me a list of actual station data, which you know are out of date.
I will then do the updates.
I am interested in actual station data for UK, because there are some hundreds of users of the Android version in UK.

That could be useful, but then people have two sites to update which may result in them not bothering. I wonder if it would be possible to approach Richard and see whether the data could be shared/sold?

The latest alpha version I have it looking really good. Because of the work he's put in, and because it is bespoke to our site and because it will be giving credit to our site and allow users to keep the data on our site up to date it will be the only application using FillLPG's data.

I fully understand that the site is painfully slow at the moment and I will be putting some hard time in to the next release of it.

I could look at developing a PC application, but I can't imagine there would be much of a call for it?

Any chance of an iOS version off the back of that? I know you have to jump through many hoops but it would be handy... I know I'm not the only LPG user with an iPhone

The fillLPG site is great and I keep promoting it as much as I can It's certainly my first port of call if I know I'll need to fill up out of my normal area Just a shame that I can't yet access it properly on the move

That said Richard, you're doing a great job and it is by far the best LPG station finder I have used so far (for accuracy)

this seems to be a fully functioning website. faster then fillLPG.co.uk . it also has mobile apps for all the major phones.

Just needs people like us to keep it upto date.
