Motorway services LPG availability

It’s been a depressing few weeks regarding LPG availability at motorway services. Moto have stopped selling LPG at the few that still did and now Welcome break have increased their prices by 22p per litre to 99.9p. So much for the “climate emergency”, it seems everyone is desperate to phase out the least environmentally damaging fossil fuel as quickly as possible.

If your going up the M1 from London, the only competitive place now that I know of is either the Shell just off Junction 14 (Milton Keynes) Or Asda Derby off J25 (which is a couple of miles off the motorway).

I'm not sure as Welcome break are in the phasing out stage just yet - What happens with London Gateway will give a better idea there (if their currently faulty tanks get replaced or not). Just profiteering as they are asking the same price as MFG have been asking for nearly a year where its still available from them (which is either engineering lower sales or just greed). That said, theres a few places about asking for £1.25 a litre with no justifiable reason for doing so.

Came back from Portsmouth today and checked to confirm Toddington North was working intending to fill up there on my way back (and found it has run out again) but noticed a Shell station at Chertsey, just off the M25 (CHERTSEY ROAD, ADDLESTONE, KT15 2ED). Called in there and found it at 74ppl. Can't complain at that and definitely one worth remembering. As of today it has been marked on Autogas.app as unavailable which may not be correct. I thought it wasn't working but after holding the button in for at least a minute, it suddenly started to pump. There was a taxi driver on the other side of the pump and he told me that it is a bit unreliable, sometimes taking up to 2 minutes before it starts to fill.
