The invasion of GDIs

I have been looking for a nice and comfortable car to replace my stale 207sw with LPG.
Anything more recent than 10 years is sporting GDI..
I tried Lexus, well my fault, they were the first in having GDI..so no go.
Tried BMW, again from 2007 onward they also moved to GDI..
Audi is a no go, with most engines running on GDI.
Toyota is GDI..
Volkswagen doesn't really have a decent petrol engine..
I haven't looked into mercedes yet because they are a bit pricey but i have the feeling that they also will be on gdi.
I also haven't looked into honda and ford, but I have the feeling they also be on GDI..
really struggling at the moment to find a low mileage newish car..
Of course I could go for a very large displacement one that are usually port..but don't quite fancy the high running costs of a 4.2L!

If you stick to the EJ and EZ series of engines, then yes - they're all port injected and respond very well to LPG conversion. But the newer FA/FB series use direct injection (or a Toyota style mix of port and direct on some versions).

So yes, prior to 2012, Subaru didn't use direct injection on any of their UK models. After that you need to check what engine it's got.
