Hi guys, recently fitted a europegas lpg system to my astra coupe, its a 2.2 litre and cant seem to find a suitable rpm signal, the coilpack has 6 wires, 2 thick and 4 thin, the thick ones are 12v + and -, i assumed the other 4 are the pulse signals for the firing of the coils and tapped into one of those but the reading displayed in software is garage, its all other the place.
Can i take a pulse signal from one of the injectors instead?
Cheers, Mark.
Astra 2.2 rpm signal?
Re: Astra 2.2 rpm signal?
The trouble with taking from the injectors is that they don't always fire (when decelerating at least mine doesn't, the injector timings drop to 0). Which wire have you taken it from (colour?)
What kind of coil have you selected in the software? I'd suspect you want 1 if its a 4 cylinder, one of each of the wires firing a single cylinder, rather than a wasted spark system.
Its more likely you have 2 +12v feeds coming down on the thick wires than a -12v, each wire supplying 2 of the coils.

Re: Astra 2.2 rpm signal?
Hiya, its all sorted now, i had a look at the vauxhall tis wiring diagrams, the wires going to the coilpack are indeed + and - 12v and 4 pulse signals on the other 4 smaller cables. Also there is a green wiring that comes from the x77 connector yhat feeds the tachometer with the signal it needs, i tapped into that green cable and its sorted.

Re: Astra 2.2 rpm signal?
good that sounds like a simple place to take it from, it may be that it doesn't spark cylinders all the time if you were taking it off the coil pack trigger, anyway doesn't matter you've found a better place to collect it from.

Good job it's not a direct injection 2.2 Vauxhall...
