Re: Eurolpg in ilford ???
Is that the place on the Romford Road heading towards Ilford just before you go under the North Circ? I noticed it one day while sitting in traffic in my initial thought was that it looked so dodgy it wasn't somewhere I'd let loose on a car I owned. I may be completely wrong but first impressions count and that place doesn't give a good first impression.

Sounds about right !!
Any where else good (and not stupidly expensive!) in the South East ??
Re: Eurolpg in ilford ???
London seems to have more than it's fair share of cowboys, not just for LPG but seemingly for everything. There's http://medwaydualfuel.co.uk/ who did a good job for someone on here, a bit further out but that may not be such a bad thing.

Re: Eurolpg in ilford ???
Funnily enough medway dual fuel are 10 minutes down the road from me - i used them before for a bit of pipework work on my old car and they seem a good bunch of guys. The only problem is they charge 2 grand plus for a 6 cylinder install - i dont mind paying as i am doing 400 miles a week at the mo but as my car is old and probably only worth 1500 quid and is most likely a ticking time bomb with the auto box - i just cant justify 2 grand !
Re: Eurolpg in ilford ???
Might be worth speaking to them to see if they are willing to let you do some of the work yourself if you feel able to, and get them to sort out the rest?
Either way your probably better looking at least outside of the M25 cost wise.

Ive spoke to a trusted person and they have said one word about eurolpg - "Dont" - better places to give your £1200 to. Looks like my mind is made up and the trip north is in order !

Re: Eurolpg in ilford ???
I dont get London. When you look at LPG there a iffy places throwing in installs with no care very cheap and doing lots of them. Then you have other guys doing a very good job but the price is on the expensive side. There are just no installers out there dong a decent job for a fair price. I think the situation is fairly true for most trades

Re: Eurolpg in ilford ???
I spend a lot of my time working in London and there seems to be a very insular attitude, anywhere you can't get to on the tube is a foreign country, so the installers there have a captive market. I suppose when you consider it can take 2 hours to get from one side of London to the other (on a good day), somewhere that is 150 miles away sounds like it will take days. The fact that you can drive 150 miles out of London in a couple of hours is lost on them.

Hadn't thought of it that way before Gilbert but seems to make sense, have noticed Londoners that enquire seem to think I'm at the end of the earth.

When people down there find out I don't live down there (I spend much more time down there with work than I'd like) they seem to think I'm strange....LPGC wrote:Hadn't thought of it that way before Gilbert but seems to make sense, have noticed Londoners that enquire seem to think I'm at the end of the earth.

Out of all the reasons they could think that, I find that one rather odd!
Re: Eurolpg in ilford ???
I'm much the same. I spent 3 years working out of an office in Canning Town, East London and I was once asked if I stayed in London during the week and only went home at weekends. They couldn't believe it when I said it was only 84 miles and it took me under an hour and a half each way. It took one of the guys I worked with longer than that to drive the 14 miles from Crystal Palace.......

That does make a lot of sense. I went to pick some parts up a few years ago and the chap was coming out to meet me. I was shocked when he said it was going to take him 30-40mins to drive the 3 miles! I think it does go to show how bad the transport system is in London and how it has a negative effect on the country as a whole

Re: Eurolpg in ilford ???
What with London transport policies being copied by other districts where they might be detrimental, bus lanes etc. Picture Ken / Boris riding a pushrod all the way to Cardiff on an empty new cycle lane of the M4, empty bus lane shifted to middle lane, all other traffic snarled up in the 'fast' lane heading to Cardiff. Easily implemented but then there might be a call for HS3 between London and Cardiffclassicswede wrote:I think it does go to show how bad the transport system is in London and how it has a negative effect on the country as a whole

Re: Eurolpg in ilford ???
London traffic is screwed up by red things. By that I refer to lights and buses. The best day I had working in London was the day the bus drivers went on strike, it was brilliant, you could actually get out of first gear! They try to encourage everyone onto public transport thinking that will reduce the amount of traffic but seem to have overlooked the fact that most that can use public transport already do, it's the ones that can't that have no choice. Most of the traffic is trade vehicles, the shops still need to have something to sell and that has to get there by truck, I have a vanload of equipment that I need to have with me and most of the other vehicles are the same.
