No special recommendations for calibrating automatics, usually best to set changeover to 'in acceleration' though - if you set changeover to 'deceleration' with an auto you could immediately join a main road and rpm might never drop below the changeover threshold..
The 'autocal' feature simply adjusts all numbers in the map by a percentage to achieve the same Pinj on LPG as on petrol (autocal only really correctly sets LPG fueling correct under calibration engine running conditions, i.e. fast idle with no load). You don't need to run autocal with your version (v6.x) software, it is just as easy and can be more accurate to select all boxes in the map and add or minus a % yourself to emulate the autocal.
Following autocal or the manual method touched on above, don''t forget to do a proper calibration by adjusting all the other boxes where necessary (usually most will need adjustment).

Re: JAG XJ6 wont run on petrol
Hi, I have a S type jag (well my 3rd s type and 2nd running on gas), I also had to fit a fuel return due to emulator not keeping the car's ecu happy. Once fitted and set up the car has been happy with the fuel pressure for over 2 years.

Thanks 57jam89
Thats reassuring will fit the return after I get back.
do you or have you used flashlube with th 3.0L? I see conflicting statements about it being needed on Ford duratec petrols?

Re: JAG XJ6 wont run on petrol
Hi Joe, my last s type had done 150k miles then I got her, I fitted the lpg myself and scrapped the car at 245k (due to a hit and run and rusty sil), the engine and auto box were still running fine and they were the not replaced at any time. No I didn't fit any lube.xj8user wrote:Thanks 57jam89

I remove the lpg and refitted on my latest s type over last Christmas only for the lpg ecu to start playing up. I replace it along with new injecters a few months ago. Again no lube system.
I have found this engine and auto box to be 100% reliable and not needed anything but servicing.

Re: JAG XJ6 wont run on petrol
Been said many times before... We see some Fords, Hondas, etc, that have done 100k on LPG without a lube fitted that seem to have suffered no VSR, but see others that have done 20k without a lube down on compression due to VSR; Sometimes popping sounds from the air filter at idle are a give-away before other checks are even done. Most of those we see with VSR issues are 4cyl Zetecs, would expect so because there are a lot more of them on the road than Ford V6's, though have seem Ford V6s with VSR too...
