LPG AROUND NORFOLK AND GREAT YARMOUTH

#1 Post by lucasfisher80 »

Hi all.....going to be having a run from nottingham to near great yarmouth this weekend in my LPG powered motor.

going to mostly stick to the A17 via kings lynn, dareham and norwich sort of direction.
anyone know of any LPG friendly filling stations along route?

would be most appreciated as this will be my first run of more than about 100 miles and i have no idea how much gas im going to need lol

Bp station Long Sutton, another BP just outside Swaffham and iirc Shell at Hethersett Norwich. Think there's one Acle end of Norwich too.

If you download the filllpg.co.uk app, it does have and prices too. It's run by one of the members on here and is updated by the users so is far more accurate than the Autogas one or any others I've found.

Yeah think that's the one I have. Any ideas why some of the stations show up in gray and others white when you look on the stations list?

?? Different stations show up on the map in different colours depending on the price range they fall into. Tap on the station and it opens up giving you the details of the station and price. The filllpg app doesn't have a list, or at least the Windows Phone version I use doesn't, so I suspect it isn't the one you have.

That would be the android app - the grey ones are stale prices, white are updated recently (last 2 months i think, maybe last month).

The ones you've been pointed to at Swaffham and Long Sutton are both Malthurst sites that do the lpg accumulator, Swaffham when i was there last week was also 59.9.

You will have no luck in Great Yarmouth the only station there now is an ex-shell station now jet, and every time I've tried to go there its unattended so not possible to fill. Theres a shell station at Lowestoft down the road from there.

Check the website on the pc as you can see more of the map at the same time to give you a better idea of the area you want to look at, then work out which ones you want and find them on the app (the Malthurst ones are 24h opening btw, Morrison's are not).

If your finding some stations missing add them (via the website not possible in the app at present). The opening hours is something thats being looked at by Richard with the rewrite of the site thats underway (a fair number of the sites have opening hours on the website as a note, but this can't be seen in the app at present, and is not the easiest to access on a phone).

Just want to say thanks everyone for the advice :)
Did about 500 miles over the bank holiday weekend mostly on lpg, I used the shell in Lowestoft (bloody expensive tho! And on the way back the Morrisons near dareham. :)
That jet petrol station on Caistor road in Yarmouth is definitely closed tho I'm afraid.... So don't count it if any of you are round that way

If you go-to www.filllpg.co.uk on a pc you can register there. You can't do it from the app. Once you've registered the account in the app you need to login using the same details. If you need more info let us know

I have deleted the Great Yarmouth Station, also updated the price at Ludham Flogas depot. We visit Norfolk regulalry with the Service station at Swaffham being my regular filling point and is a multiplier discount station. Sadly LPG is getting scarcer in Norfolk. Not too many years ago there were lots of stations, even village filling stations semed to sell it, now just a handful left.
Regards, Paul.
