AC AutoGaz - New Software / Firmware *Autoadaption Feature*

Morning all,

So I downloaded the new software / firmware for my STAG-300+ last night, installed it, went for a spin to re-tune. I must say, on first impressions, I'm very impressed. The software now allows for mapping using RPM / Inj times / load graphs, something severely lacking on the old software.

They've added this feature entitled "Autoadaption". Now it isn't described at all in the manual, but as far as I can work out one collects a complete petrol injection map (i.e. all loads over all RPM ranges), sets up a regular LPG map and then the ECU fine tunes the multipliers when they start to drift out for whatever reason. Has anyone else had a play with this feature? I haven't switched it on but it looks like a much easier way of tuning when you haven't got a mate driving your car.

Automappimg learns your system when driving the led on the dash flashes when learning I found mime did twice when I put my foot right down and the first morning when the car was running rich. in the first 100 miles. The big question is .. Is it as good as normal mapping?

At polish forums people says that on some cars it works properly, but on other cars after some time it causes problems. Most polish installers recommend switching it off after tuning. That's what I know, and what I'll do with mine.

I've left it turned on on the last 3 conversions I've done but have made sure I collected a very good map manually first. Not had it switch back to petrol more than once or twice since but I have been told it may take up to a year for it to complete collecting the 3D maps

Not really a worry though as the map is spot on anyway

I finished my conversion 3 days ago, it took over 40 miles of driving to collect basic petrol map, and after three days still is marked as yellow meaning it is still not complete.
Look at it in that way: when you have a brand new car, every dealer will tell you that ecu during xxx miles will be learning how do you drive. Same story with gas ecu.

That's why I collect a good map manually, for both petrol and LPG, with someone else driving and working the engine hard across the range. Mine still shows as incomplete after some 3.5k but I haven't noticed it switch back to petrol for a long time

Incidentally... Did you turn the sounds on and follow the instructions? I didn't because I had the ability to collect the maps with another driver but if solo I think I would

No, I didn't, thanks to stag manual, but I had my laptop on front seat (secured with seatbelt). Stag manual says that you have to switch on gas after collecting petrol map. No, that's wrong - switch on gas during collecting that map, and you will hear buzzer telling you what you have to do. When you will keep it off, no buzzing and instructions at all. And then, after collecting basic petrol map, system will switch to lpg automaticaly.

I updated at the weekend and have notived a marked improvement in the car's performance. Much perkier and nearer the petrol performance levels.

I've not got a full map, not gone much above 5k rpm, but I rarely drive up there. When I take her out to the West Coast I'll run petrol for a while and collect the last areas.

Can't comment on fuel consumption, but will keep an eye. It's def not worse.

Much easier way to colect the map tho, the block graph thing is great to see where/how you need to drive. Sounds are a pain in the neck tho!
