Injectors into Plastic Manifold
Injectors into Plastic Manifold
Morning, I have been reading about the drilling etc in the manifold and read some say take the manifold off and some say you can leave it on, if you leave it on is there something your putting on the drill bit to stop the swaf getting in the inlet?
Re: Injectors into Plastic Manifold
Obviously removing the manifold is preferential but it isn't as important if the manifold is plastic.
Some grease on the drill and tap will help. A sharp and clean drill bit will also be beneficial. Keep the drill speed as low as possible.

Don't forget "plastic" may be glass reinforced plastic, don't be too blase about how harmless the swarf is.

Re: Injectors into Plastic Manifold
Think i'll go the scrap yard and get another manifold and drill and put them in that, then swap it over with new gasket, then at least if I make a mistake I have a backup!
It's just a straight hole into the manifold, tap and then injectors in with some thread lock on?
