Changing pressure on OMVL Dream XX1-N vapouriser

#1 Post by 85jas »

Hi all,

More questions - The deeper I delve into the guts of my LPG install the more issues I find. Rats.

I need to reduce the pressure of the supply from the vapouriser to the injectors - Question: Is it possible to change the pressure on the above vapouriser? It seems from a cursory search of the internet that to change the pressure one must change the internal spring in this unit. Is this the case? I can't find an adjustment screw anywhere!

I'm not sure which precise model I have, but this is exactly what it looks like:

Many thanks,
Jason

It isn't possible to change pressure from software ; the setting in the OMVL software is there so that the installer can inform the software which vaporiser type has been installed.

OMVL D21 vaporiser comes in three pressure variants. To change from one band to another requires internal spring change.

Each vaporiser is indiviually adjustable, to an extent, within its band. The adjuster is disguised as the vaccum reference nipple, use the hexagon to turn it in or out whilst monitoring pressure at idle on gas.

Funny that ..not ever heard this mentioned before ..its not in the manuals ..not in the tune up data ..nothing ..

you mean that vacuum take off is an adjustment screw ...

i had trouble a long time ago ..could never get, during the calibration ..it to go into the middle zone of injector size being right ..it kept on telling i needed bigger injectors etc so i enlarged the holes twice . .a few people here says ..adjust the pressure in the software ..like I'm not understanding myself at the time how this could possibly work, was assured it would ..but injector calibration remained to the right of the middle zone ..on the border of the injector size to small zone

Now you come along Ross , with what may be a solution ..after 4 years without anyone saying anything about this ...an increase in pressure with this nut may ..plonk it into the middle zone.

BTW ..ive never tuned it in four years ..cause i was afraid to ..i have no injector reader for this car ..as I'm told it doesn't exist ..
and I'm aware that I'm stabbing in the dark ..what with the cars ecu ..and lamda, fighting against you whilst you try to adjust things ....so my motto was if it runs and runs nice leave well alone .

BTW my magnacore leads are now buggered ..would i recommend them to anyone ..NO..they are soft as hell and wear away just by rubbing against the other leads .

Car always being at least 25 percent down on fuel consumption compared to petrol on long trips ..which i don't make a lot of ..but its OK on the short trips ..

Anyway come the warm weather will try again ..of course saving the old program first ....thats if LPG doesn't reach an equal standing with LPG by that time .

all the best.markj

Aah. Nice one :) That doesn't get mentioned anywhere in the literature - Wonder how much leeway it provides...
