Have you solved this problem yet, i have the same thing and have a code from the diagnostic p0460 which is fuel level sensor hi or low or purge flow sensor circuit malfunction.

What system do you have fitted?? look on the bulkhead (under the bonnet) just below the wipers. If theres a big silver cylinder about 2-3 inches wide it is probably a NECAM KOLTEC VG392 in that case open the large fuse box nearby it and see if theres a trailing wire with a plug on the end in there.

If there is then take it to someone who has winmono software, they can diagnose your system by plugging onto this connector. You can try removing both red fuses and replacing them after a short while as this resets the ecu on this system.

Mine came up as a faulty Lamda sensor though it could be any number of reasons. If it is that system then you can check your gas level (as having no gas in the system can also cause this problem by opening the hand bolt which releases the cover to the tank electronics (in the boot under the carpet) - silver cover normally says "do not open" just make sure you carefully replace once checked. I thought it was a gas valve till I saw photos of the tank online :)

If it is that system I highly recommend Birmingham Autogas of Starcity, Birmingham! they are really clued up and have all the diagnostics and spares suppliers for the Vauxhalls
