My LPG experience

we wanted a new Freelander 2 to replace my TD4. I found a nearly new 3.2 16 and discussed conversion to LPG.
I looked around (although did not find this forum) and chose a very determined man running a company called Autotech in Derbyshire. It was not cheap in fact the most expensive quote received but we have run it since August 2009 with absolutely no problems and the tank is hidden under the floor the performance is indistinguishable switching between petrol or LPG and it is going to break even by this time next year at current mileage and price difference.
In the meantime I am emitting much lower amounts of CO2 and particles that contribute towards cancers. From memory he fitted the BRC system and it is very neat there is only a small fuel indicator with integral switch button and an extra fuelling cap colour coded just under the factory petrol filler that does not really show at all.
I was worried about converting but having done it I have to say it was a good move both financially for others and possibly the planet.

Welcome to the forum and it makes a change to hear of a successful install and a happy customer. Far too often people come on here with tales of woe and botched installs but it is rare to hear the opposite. Human nature I suppose, people are quick to criticise but rarely praise.

Update July 2013. The gas system is fantastic we have no problems with it at all and it has now saved huge amount of cash as the petrol prices have as you are aware risen a lot since July 2009 was at around £1 a litre now about £1.40 a rise of 40% ! So made the cost of installation and now in "profit" I calculate roughly about £5,000 + saving so far (after conversion costs).
