Belgium - an adaptor IS required!

just to let you know, if you visit belgium you will need an adaptor, it isnt the same as the french adaptor - which caught me out as i assumed they would be the same!!

and the price of LPG along the route from calais to brussels was VERY cheap compared to the UK/France

Yup, that's the one. You'll need that for Belgium and Germany, your standard UK bayonet filler for Holland and an Italian Cup for everywhere else. In some filling stations, particularly those near to borders, you'll find more than one type of nozzle on the pumps. Belgium also seems to be about the cheapest place in Europe for gas too.

Yes, I think worldwide too not just in Europe. I think the Acme screw is also used in the US and Australia too as well as on forklift trucks. There were moves to standardise on a single EU connector but it seems to have only started to be used in parts of Spain and nowhere else. Adapters for Italian Cup and Acme are easy to get hold of, you'll also find that if you stop at a filling station that uses a filler that you don't have an adapter for they will loan you one or will have them on the shelf in the shop. The Italian cup adapters can be bought for around 8 Euros from just about every French filling station and most of the Belgian ones will sell you an Acme adapter.
