Hi guys weres my stepper motor on my astra mk4 so i can clean it done a few other jobs like spark plugs carb cleaned but still hesitates and idles up and down.

Did we ever decypher whether it was a GSI or EGI system?
I think it may have been a GSI.
Check in my gallery. You can see the stepper motor on the top of the EGI distributor in there too.

The GSI doesn't have a stepper motor and I don't think that alone causes idling issues.
By how much are we talking about and when is it not steady.
If you are talking about the stepper motor for the idle control valve, I'm not sure whether your engine will have one or not.

If it is only on gas, it is possible it is the butterfly valve in the Vapouriser or a dirty filter fitted before the vapouriser. Clean the butterfly valve with a none oil based cleaner.
The main culprits are usually the throttle body and breather hoses and the EGR valve. Damaged vacuum hoses cause bad idling too.

Hi m8 to this day i still dont know what system i have i took it monday to an lpg garage to see about having the filler valve replaced because of the problem when filling and he gave a price of £85. while i was there i spoke to him about the problems and he said coil pack but i wasnt convinced but anyway he looked under the bonnet and told me he dont know what system it was he said he had never worked on the system i have. so tomorrow going to another lpg conversion place in ripley Derbyshire to get second price for the valve replacement i suppose i should just call at vauxhall to find out which it is. But will see what price i get tomorrow but valve realy needs doing to save me smelling of gas each time i fill up.
When i went to my local asda a lady was filling her land rover with lpg so stood talking to her and watch her take of the filler to see just a puff of gas come out once she released not like mine which is more like a flood of liquid.
