Sorry I will give a bit more details
I currently have a Renault Grand Scenic 2.0 on lpg, it was fitted by a local garage with 2 years warranty, systems runs ok.
I want to change my other car which is a diesel to either a Mercedes A Class 1.5, or a BMW 1 Series 1.6, then get it converted to LPG,
I am a driving instructor and will cover about 25k miles a year, I only ask about the first 2 systems .
1. OMVL 'Dream XXI N' or
2. AC 'STAG 4/300' MULTIPOINT
There is a guy on Ebay located in the south of Wales who will fit either of these systems at a good price and in 1 day, he has 100% Positive Feedback. As I live in the Birmingham area it is a bit of a travel ( might be some local agents who can service in Birmingham )
Or should I just stay with option 3
3. BIGAS SGIS
As fitted to my Scenic by a local agent. Bare in mind the first 2 options Will be about £500 cheaper for the complete install.
Cheers

when someone offers a kit for the prices stated, ensure they are UK sourced kits otherwise you may find that there is no warranty.
most installers offer two years warranty at present, see what warranty is offered with the guy in south wales.
the other thing to consider is what your local installers are fitting. OMVL and Bigas are pretty widespread across the country whereas stag are not used in high numbers.
if you choose to go for either bigas or omvl ( which if installed properly will run just fine) then you may have the choice to have the system serviced and looked after locally.

Birmingham Autogas would fit similar AEB based LPG system for not much more than the guys in Wales charge including the petrol to Wales and back and they have a good reputation on here. They do a lot of Taxis I hear.stewartw wrote:Sorry I will give a bit more details

They are also cheaper if you pay through ebay.

I've got an AC/Stag kit on my Omega and am very happy with it. But I went down the DIY route with excellent support from the supplier and the owners forum. The 2 year warranty is honoured and has been tested after one of the guys had an ECU go faulty during a firmware upgrade!!
That said, if it's for a work vehicle then you need to ensure any issues can be solved quickly and with the minimum of fuss... I'd be looking at the local option.

Reliability
I have a Dream XX1-N which I DIY fitted to a V6 Omega. It was a straightforward installation and didn't bugger up the car's Engine Management System.
That was a few years ago and it's done about 90k since. All I've had go wrong was a failed solenoid coil on the reducer which cost £25 and took ten minutes to replace.
An excellent AEB based system which has been very reliable and economical. Easy to upgrade and "tweak" with a laptop if necessary.
Can't speak for the others as I've had no experience with them.

Be aware that the very latest AEB based systems are now adaptive and read the long and short range petrol fuel trims and adjust the gas map accordingly. I am trying to get my hands on a 6cly Zavoli adaptive ECU to replace mine to see what they are like - Zavoli launched their adaptive ECU a couple of weeks ago so probably none in the UK yet.
Worth asking about if you are installing now as in theory you should have a smoother running car when set up correctly.
1 day is not long enough to install - ask if they are taking your inlet manifold off or drilling in situ and filling your cylinder head with swarf?

If it is set up correctly all will be well, but there is very little chance of it being set up correctly in one day - doesn't leave much time for road testing etc after all of the plumbing and electrics have been done.
Just wanted to make the OP aware of the latest technology hitting the market - no point spending all that money to find that a newer ECU was available for the same cost with 'improved' features if they had gone to a different installer.
