Dearest in UK ? East Kilbride

#1 Post by zilspeed »

Sprint Autopoint East Kilbride 66.9p/l

Morrisons 6 miles away is 49.9p/l

Yeah right, I'll voluntarily pay an extra 34%...

Going by my relative fuel consumption on LPG compared to petrol, the cost per mile would be exactly the same. Maybe that's no coincidence.

I can beat that. texaco station Carmarthen Road, Swansea 67.9, always the most expensive in the area. All 6 other garages around the 50p mark

Hamilton - 49.9
The new one at Easterhouse - 49.9

Shell, London Road - 49.9

I'm in Cumbernauld, and there's pheque all here, but I work in EK and Hamilton.

I can top that.

Aitken-Walker at Duns in the Scottish Borders. 70p/litre.

Always have been the most expensive and never seem to pass up an opportunity to hike it up still further. Playing on the scarcity of stations in the Borders.

BTW, does anyone know of any changes in yesterdays budget statement? If VAT has gone down - and LPG doesn't attract the same fuel duty as petrol - might we see a price drop?

Yeah, I know. The pigs are lined up on the runway ready to go.

ok, I pass the one just of Stewartfield Way, it doesnt do LPG :(
like you there is feck all near me where I stay, I have to fill up in Kilmarnock (15 miles away) on my way to and from work - which is a PITA on the days I'm not going through to edinburgh.

It can be a PITA not being near an LPG station.

Today I did a quick excel spreadsheet based on my MPG on gas, MPG on petrol and the current prices of the two fuels.

The place in EK comes out at 10p/mile as does petrol bought at 89.9 / litre.

So, not actually worth running the car on gas at 66.9 / litre when the price is so close to the petrol price.

There's a new petrol station being built here, I'm crossing everything in my possession that it'll have LPG.

How about J Burgess in Lerwick - 83.9ppl

What a difference between the lowest 37 and highest 83.9 = 46.9p!!!!!
