They'll have needed to drop it a lot; The last price advice I received worked out to just under 61ppl inc. VAT.TheGreenOne wrote:Try Countrywide Autogas, they have dropped their price recently.
Countrywide were never the cheapest (when I was filling up for 49.9ppl @ Asda in April, Countrywide were 47ppl plus VAT).
I only use them for the odd couple of gallons, just to get me to High Wycombe (where it's 49.9ppl @ Asda), or the Total station @ Towcester, where it's 47.9ppl).
Too true about Countrywide. My last advice came to just over 59ppl. Shame really because they have wide coverage with a handy key account and most pumps can be accessed 24 hours. Locks Garage on the Abergavenny road out of Hereford is the cheapest, now 49.9ppl. 45 litres to fill equals a saving of £4.50, so it's even worth travelling to.

Don't forget about the Flo-gas depot in Romsey (well, just outside, when travelling toward Winchester).Patrick wrote:That is cheap I thought it was good round here at 51.9p yesterday! That was at a shell station near Winchester.
I filled up there a couple of weeks ago, for around 50.2ppl (or was it 50.3?).

That would be a valid argument if LPG had gone up by 25p since earlier this year (when the price of unleaded was last around 93p/litre).aboard_epsilon wrote:my local morrisons rhyl now 49.9........

And, of course, if LPG had started off this year at 29.9p/litre (which it didn't).
The price rise of LPG, at the local Total station, has been around 5 or 6p a litre (it peaked at 53.4p, and is now down to 47.9p - 2p a litre less than it was in March, and 3p a litre less than it was in April).
aha ...but... what was the price of LPG ..when petrol was last at 95p average
it was last at an average of 95 Pence a litre in July 07
at that time LPG was average of 43 pence a litre....
so to even things up again ..LPG needs to drop another say 5 pence per litre.
it would be nice to have the price gap of winter spring 06 when LPG was average of 36 pence per litre and pet was 95..........thats when we all managed real savings.........
hope that differential comes back one day.

Yup, 45.9p in High Wycombe (without the discount)......Or it would be, if the damn pumps worked; But as usual, they've packed up!jalfrezigazee wrote:43.9 yesterday at Asda Cardiff thas with the 2p Asda discount applied. Nice to see it finally coming down like petrol
Oh, and someone needs to have a word with Sainsburys.....
a) They're about 18% more expensive than Asda (no big surprise there - Their food is expensive, so there's no reason why their fuel shouldn't also be a rip-off).
b) The main Sainsburys filling station, in Watford, is selling Autogas at 54.9p (even more than the BP station near Rickmansworth

Don't worry, that problem may not last long anyway. Somewhere else on this forum (bit pushed for time at the mo so can't go looking for it) I posted about my local Sainsbury's refurbishing their petrol station (new underground tanks, new car wash and a few other things) but no mention of installing an LPG pump (it'd never had one before but I was hoping they'd take the opportunity to fit one now).jalfrezigazee wrote:

Contacted head office and spoke to the top-bod who deals with the petrol station side of things, only to be told that they are doing away with LPG from all of their forecourts - no particular timescale but it will be done.
He said that (a) they always had terrible trouble getting supplies of LPG, and (b) they didn't move enough of it to be viable. When I said that (a) might have a direct bearing on (b) (if people keep seeing empty pumps, of course they'll go elsewhere) and could they not just change suppliers/try harder, he just wasn't interested.

That is odd. I admit they are not the cheapest although they now charge me 37p +VAT which works out to around 45p a litre (I think it's actually gone cheaper again). That's cheaper than almost everyone near me (Flogas in Coventry charge 46p last time I checked, and whilst from Starcity it is 41p a litre, that's 30 miles each way away from me.adebov wrote:They'll have needed to drop it a lot; The last price advice I received worked out to just under 61ppl inc. However, I am a regular customer (the car does around 80,000 miles a year) which may be an influencing factor in my rate.

Have you bought at that price recently or just read the website? It could be an old website not updated. If it's true, it certainly is cheap, and shows that we are being Royally ripped off by a lot of vendors.naz wrote:Hi, i think the price i found beats all!! 38ppl!!!!!!!!!!!! in birmingham, Cuckoo road i think it is, Just outside Star City!!! there website http://www.birminghamautogas.co.uk/ Beat that people!!!!!
