Romano RiS Software

I recently bought the software for my ECU but I'm having trouble getting it to work. It works fine on a mate's old laptop which has a serial port. But it won't work on mine which doesn't. I'm using an Easy Sync USB to serial adaptor cable which works fine on other software that requires a serial port. Is there another make of USB to serial adaptor available that anyone's had any success with using the Romano RiS software?

I've got this working now. The software I was sold claimed to not need a dongle. But it did. I've now replaced one of the files in the software with a version that gets round this - thanks to Mike from this forum.

Is Mike still active here? I've lost that software and could do with a copy of it.

I've now been sent a Zip file of the Romano software but can't get it to run. Does anyone know how I install it?
