Hi,
I live in Cardiff and have recently bought an LPG converted vehicle. Does anyone know of a private seller or anything in Cardiff or the surrounding area where I can obtain cheap gas? Morrisons and Asda currently sell at 39.9p a litre.
Thanks,
Jon.

As cheap as possible!!
It's 42.9p at those garages now. I'm happy enough paying those prices but wouldn't complain if I could get it cheaper.
I had read that if you can find a private seller then it's usually cheaper than from garages. Is that not right?

I'm not sure what I mean to be honest, but I have found the web page where I read about it...
http://www.go-lpg.co.uk/AboutLPG.html
"For the last 3 yrs, Petrol has been 2.4 times the price of LPG in our area (bought from private sites as opposed to forecourts). This means that a car giving 20 mpg on LPG is giving its owner effectively 48 miles to the gallon on a pound for pound basis. Although the savings made are still considerable (half of your petrol money) when your LPG is bought from a forecourt, we encourage you to find a local private supplier, making your savings even greater."
I presume that means that there are people selling LPG privately and legally for less than the forecorts sell it for - unless Go LPG are encouraging tax evasion!

Oh, and I have tried asking Go-LPG; they said...
"Best way is to troll around the net, or ask those you meet at other LPG pumps. LPG users are normally a friendly and helpful lot. Also, the LPG map of GB is very useful although many private sites are not shown."

You could try Cardiff Gas, their website is at
http://cargas-lpg.co.uk/
They have 2 refilling sites that I know of, one in Sully, which is out towards Barry and another in Abercynnon just off the A470. Not sure how the Sully one works but the one in Abercynnon is a Members only thing, you register with them and pay the £8 for a tag which allows you to use the site (it's unmanned) and the Gas is around 43p a litre. However you have to pay for the Gas in advance and if you credit more than £100 at a time you get a discounted rate of 41p a litre.
Their website says that they are currently selling LPG for 37p a liter in their Sully depot but I'd give them a ring to check it out.
