Omega 2.0 stalls on transition
My 1999 Vauxhall Omega has a Romano single point system (regulator serial no. 10140). It starts and runs fine on petrol, and runs fine on LPG. However, it often stalls when it tries to transition from petrol to LPG. This is much less likely to happen if I run the car for several miles first, so I assume it's trying to change too soon. I have reduced the spark plug gap to 0.030" but this has not made any difference.
Ideally I would like it to transition early and reliably, but late and reliably would be acceptable. Any suggestions?

Change the threshold for change over to 2000 rpm in deceleration.
Change to gas before driving , if it does,nt stall you have cracked it,if not back to the drawing board.

Excellent. I've downloaded and installed the software. I'm getting quite excited about this! I have found a cable with USB on one end and Millennium connector on the other on ebay (Item 270167577023) for an opening bid of £4.99 so we'll see what that goes for. Hopefully less than £48.

The problem seems to be getting worse. It used to occasionally stall on transition, now it usually stalls on transition. Today I finally got the cable (£50 in the end) and have and downloaded the software. I changed the switch-over speed from 1600 rpm to 2000 rpm. It still stalls on transition, however. What should I try next?
I tried to take your advice, Mark, but couldn't find a way to take down my post! I have looked for the "valves opened in advance" setting you mentioned but couldn't find it. The closest setting I could find was 0.4 seconds duration of fuel overlap. Is that it? Maybe we're using different software.
Here are the settings I have at the moment. The only one I have changed is the switch-over speed from 1600 to 2000 rpm.

Early Omegas had this type of sensor , the easy way to tell is check the colours on the lambda it will have a red , white , yellow,black wire.If i remember rightly the yellow is the signal wire..
Try setting the fuel overlap at a higher value , say a second.

I have found a PITAGORA emulator which has two push switches and a pot on the bottom. I have taken it out and removed the PCB from the plastic box. It all looks clean as a whistle. The pot moves freely and I'm ready to shift it clockwise or anticlockwise. Anybody know which way makes the overlap longer? If nobody knows then at least I've got a 50% chance of going the right way!

I bought a new emulator of exactly the same type and the instructions say clockwise makes the overlap time longer. I increased the overlap on the old emulator, then fittend the new emulatoe, then increased the time on the new emulator. None of this stopped it stalling so I've put back the old emulator on the old setting. Anbody want to buy a new emulator?

Problem solved!
I took it to Finedon Classic Conversions (at NN9 5JA) and Andrew immediately diagnosed a faulty LPG solenoid. £72 for parts and labour got me a new solenoid fitted. Apparently the contaminants in the fuel can build up in the solenoid. Colder weather means stiffer gunk so the solenoid struggles more to operate. That's why the transition got harder and harder as the weather got colder and colder.
