E-Gas - LPG Calculator

#1 Post by admin »

Been playing about with the LPG calculator on the eGas site, www.egasweb.co.uk and have worked out that on my Discovery, running 10,000 miles per annum I am saving a massive £1,305 a year on fuel. Oh the glee all that tax I'm denying the government.

Having said all that I have been thinking of going for a Freelander TD4 or BMW 318i(1.9) and have also used the same calculator to work out that if I take the BMW route I will save on LPG about £50 a month and the TD4 about £60 with roughly an additional £50 were I to covnert to LPG.

So apart from being bored waiting for the car to come back so I can spend lots of the money I am saving down the Chandlers, the moral of the story is the bigger then engine the greater the savings, not that you did'nt know that already.

And just to add to this totally useless information since my conversion in 2000, assuming 10,000 mpa and an average petrol price of 85.9 and gas 43.9 deducting the £2,700 I have had to fork out for the conversion, new engine, re-conversion I have saved a total of £ 4,194 or £ 691.50.

Sheesh I need to get a life

Damian
