Vectra 2.0 ls dual fuel keeps cutting out

Hi people, Just one out and got myself a 2.0ls vectra dual fuel on a 1999 plate. right, firstly after about 50 miles the petrol gauge dropped from full very rapidly to empty!! apparently this is meant to be a common fault?? there was still gas in it but at times it just keeps cutting out. On petrol its fine but if i switch to gas it will just cut out, same if i start in lp, it just cuts out? sometimes it will run for a while on gas fine but then just cut out, as for the switch, what does it mean when the red light is flashing?? Can any1 help???

how much should the service cost? haev u had it done? cos vauxhall asked me for £300!!

service at my local dealers costs £160, i think i'll giv that a miss, best thing is find in your area who is a qualified lpg installer and do it that way, one near me is asking for £70 inc cleaning filters, or you can replace them.

well, i have checked nd double checked with them and they say its around £300 for the service and nobody else around here will touch it as vauxhall use a completely different system to everybody else, so thats going to help me out loads. i hav got sum1 who is going to check it all over on monday so c what happens there

No worrys....let me know what happens, by the way, I believe its called a necam system thats fitted in these cars.

Having similar problems with mine. (2000 W Vectra 2.0GLS Dual Fuel) Sunday. Did 100 miles towing my race car. Unloaded back at home and went to nip out (no trailer) and it wouldnt switch to gas) Monday still wouldnt go on Gas. Tuesday back on Gas no problems. Today wont go onto gas.. Any thoughts?

could be duff temp sensor on your vapouriser,not telling system u hit changeover temp

Guess what.. Car hasnt been on Gas all week. Took it into the garage and it started working on the gas. Anyway theyve done some tests and it looks like no power getting to the rear solenoid, so theyve changed a relay behind the dash board. Now on Gas so will have to see what happens...

Thats good news mate, i was the one that originally posted this thread, sum idiot ran out in front of me and my car is now in bits, so never mind the lpg not working, the whole things off road right now. just wana say thanx2all u guys for the advice and im sure once i get it back on the road im going to be right back here getting more advice on it.

Relay I had replaced work for 4500 miles and then it stopped working again. This time they found what Im hoping to be the real problem.. A break in the wire that goes to the rear solenoid. Had the car in for 3 days working on it.. And I was only charged £60+VAT John Delanys in Stockport... Cant really fault them at all.

Nice one... Im having problems again. This time the following happens. Start car up from cold, and drive a small distance. Gas clicks and primes itself, and then switches over. It then dies like it did do last time. BUT if I leave the car to warm up a bit and manually switch it over it works fine. Anyone got any ideas?

Still having problems.. Now its switching back over to Petrol when Im driving, mainly when Im accelerating hard, but it feels a bit "lumpy" when on the gas like theres a fueling problem? Could it do with a service?

Got it booked into Vauxhall on Monday to be looked at.. £35+Vat for a "Gas Inspection" whatever that is!
