I'm going on a road trip to Spain and back. A 240-mile range from 80L means I will need around 14-16 fuel stops, which will stress my palm when pressing the button.

Is there a suction device that exists that applies pressure to the button to refill the car? Or, would a plastic pin work?

First thing is to download the myLPG.eu app to find filling stations. French Autoroute services are around one Euro a litre, supermarkets just off the Autoroutes are around 80 cents a litre so a decent saving on a tankful. For France you will need an Italian cup adapter for filling but in Spain you will need a Euro adapter (a number of years ago it was proposed that there should be a standard filler throughout Europe and it was going to be the only one but Spain was the only country that adopted it, everyone else stick with what they had). You can buy an Italian cup at most French filling stations but best to get one before going over as without one you won't be able to fill. I now have a Euro adapter too (along with an Acme screw for Belgium and Germany) but the first time I drove in Spain I didn't have one and couldn't find anywhere to buy one. I did however discover that the Spanish for Autogas adapter is Autogas adapter and they will present you with a box full of every adapter possible and allow you to borrow whichever one you need. Some are in a pretty @!## state though, the threads on one were so bad I had to use pipe pliers to put it on and take it off again.

As for holding the button in, it depends what sort of button it is. With some you can wedge the end of a cable tie in around the outside edge of the button but that is about it. I stopped at one filling station in Italy where they fill for you and the guy had a bicycle inner tube wrapped around the pump which he slid over the button to hold it in......

If the button faces sideways towards the vehicle I've known people use a telescoping pole with a soft pad or suction cup at one end braced between the button and vehicle, something like an extending brush handle.

Otherwise depending on the height and type of button you don't have to use your palm, I sometimes use my fist and lean against it.
