The black cylinder with two threads in the base.....
Is this just a filter? Does the hose seem small for rr v8 4ltr?

I don't recognise this system......

Many thanks

The black thing is, as you suspected, a vapour filter (one of these https://lpgautosupplies.co.uk/shop/lpg- ... -complete/) but I think it should be mounted with the threaded holes at the top.....

You're right, the LRV8 doesn't need a valve saver so you can take that out and free up a bit of space. Obviously installed by someone that was into belt and braces.

Many thanks Gilbertd. This is on a vehicle I wanted to make an offer on. But was then put off by the consistency of the waterless coolant.... that is another thread on another forum.

So, the screws should be at the top? Allowing heavy ends to collect at the bottom? Reducing build up in the evap?

Thanks again

Keith

You won't get heavy ends as it is a vapour filter, but you may get other stuff that managed to get through the liquid filter which, as you rightly say, should settle at the bottom.

Personally I'd be put off any LRV8 with waterless coolant in it. Someone put it in for a reason and as a (expensive) bodge to cover up an overheating problem. The same goes for a whitish, chalky, residue around the reservoir as that is usually a sign it has water glass (aka Steel Seal) in it and is a sign that it has been put in to try to cure a leaking liner.
