KME Gold reducer diaphram

Minor problem, time to replace diaphram, had it 7 years now.
Diaphram on the gas side, replaced water side last year when it was off the car.
Advice on getting the damn thing open.
Removed the 4 bolts, but couldn't shift the cover on the gas side and didn't want to get too busy with the rubber mallet, not knowing if I'd damage anything.
Going to dose it with plusgas and heat cycling driving the car.
What's the best method, anyone?
