Hi,
How do I decipher the emissions number of my 2000 Jaguar XJ8 that was converted in 2007?
Why am I doing this? I am trying to understand how far off my car is from meeting the Euro Status 4 emission requirement.
"To pass Euro 4 standards, petrol cars had to produce CO of no more than 1.0g/km, Total Hydro Carbon (THCs) emissions of no more than 0.10g/km and NOx emissions of 0.08g/km."
How do I decipher the CO2 emissions on my report?

Re: How do I decipher the CO2 emissions on my report?
Those figures would be parts per million done on an exhaust tester. Not directly translatable to emissions per km. I'm not sure how you'd get those readings without some sort of test setup either.
Re: How do I decipher the CO2 emissions on my report?
CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) emissions need ridiculously expensive test gear, not something readily available. Usual tests would be CO (Carbon Monoxide) and HC (unburnt hydrocarbons) which are the standard ones checked in the MoT test. However, the CO figure would be quoted as a percentage (under 0.2% is the limit for the standard catalyst equipped test against 3.5% for the basic emissions test used if the car is running on LPG or CNG when tested) while the HC figure is in parts per million. So quite what those numbers are telling you is anyone's guess.

If your trying to determine for the UK CAZ or ULEZ zones, you generally need to go off the numberplate and use
https://vehiclecheck.drive-clean-air-zo ... er_details
Or
https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/check-your-vehicle/
If your trying to check for use abroad, Gillbertd would be one of the folk to ask as he has dealt with it personally. Really need to define why your asking?
I'd suspect those numbers are on the original conversion certificate. Unfortuantely they aren't worth anything as they prove nothing really. I'd suspect those are standard numbers they fill out rather than ones generated by any sort of test equipment. You'd normally get an emissions printout from the garage at MOT time, though again that would only give whats been specified for MOT as said above.

No need for any figures for use abroad, for France, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium, all you need do is show LPG as the fuel type (and for France and Germany send a pdf of your V5(C) showing fuel type). That then gives you the same class vignette for France as a hybrid and unlimited access to all zones for Germany, Netherlands and Belgium.
I asked about getting a test done to show the CO2 figure so I could start an argument with TfL for the London ULEZ and was told the car would need to be tested by Millbrook or somewhere similar who are one of the few organisations that can carry out the tests, at the sort of prices that only a vehicle manufacturer can afford.
