Hi all,
I have bought an XJ8 3.2 V8 that has a 15-year-old Romano kit installed.
I would like to understand if I can run the software myself. I have found the software to download, and now I require a USB cable to use.
Will a generic one off eBay work?
Is there perhaps a mobile app that I can use instead with a Bluetooth adapter?

Mobile apps exist but I doubt one for an ecu of that age does. The app for the KME Nevo is limited, but I've used that through the bluetooth dongle like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114975613742 and https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... n_GB&gl=US
Its fine for seeing whats going on, you can't tune on it, you can setup the level gauge and see errors and basic readings, thats about it, and I think that would be the limit of what you'd see in most of the mobile apps. LPG tech does similar, I think one of the other manufacturers might as well (maybe Stag or King).
You need a lead compatible with AEB type ecus - you can source one from ebay, but they can be problematic, you might find this more suitable
