4 hole tank removal

I want to remove my LPG tank to paint the inside of the wheel well. Obviously there are no problems with the outlet due to the solenoid but how about the fill valve? Does that contain a non return valve? Is that located within the fill valve so if I remove the pipe from the outlet the gas will stay in?

There is two non-return valves in the filler, one is in the filler connector, the other on the tank. Provided they work, you will lose the contents of the pipe. It would however be sensible to run the tank down prior to removing it anyway, as they are heavy enough empty let alone full! Doesn't have to be completely empty, but if you have 40 litres of gas in the tank that increases its weight by 20kg.

Note that Simon has posted about the NRV being damaged by overtightening on tanks so you can't assume it will be working, so slacken pipework slowly and monitor the pressure released.
