hi guys chasing a lean code bank 1 on my range rover 4.2 s/c

scan data shows :-

Calc engine load 43%
Engine coolant 85oc
Stft 8.6
Ltft 3.9
Stft 3.1
Ltft 2.3
Fuel press 285kpa
Intake manifold press 71kpa
Rpm 1388
Speed 59km/h
Ign timing 25.5
Intake air temp 28oc
Throttle position 21.6

so nothing that should be popping a code I think certainly trims look all ok

any ideas for me to look at ?

What is it like at idle?
What is the code you got?

It's fine at idle, a bit rich if anything,

Code p0171

Perhaps erase the code and see if it comes up again first?

Done all that, my point was a lean code should only pop up on large positive short or ltft, the freeze frame data shows neither

Eta its coming in continuously, I will start making a note of the next freeze frame as a comparison

What does stft2b1 read when the code arises?
What is fuel pressure usually on LPG and what is it usually on petrol?

Hi Simon

Code reader doesn't show ft2 just long and short for each bank.

Fuel rail same on gas and petrol at 250kpa at idle.
Car fitted with fuel return line with appropriate oriface

They have an underlying fuel trim (the S2 trim I referred to). A lot of the old-skool installers say this is a 2nd petrol map trim... it isn't really, it's just the (kind of) underlying trim but it can provoke such codes.
Anyway are you Neil who's supercharged Rangerover I converted that I spoke to today? I honestly don't know! lol.

Sorry the late reply.

Yes, thanks for those!

Have you got this sorted yet?

Hi Simon
No I haven't sorted it, I have swapped injectors over and fault stays on same bank, but I do get an occasional p0116 ect circuit fault which brings on the coolant fan, suspect it may be related.
Car runs faultless other than cel on.
Eta once petrol drivers strike over will run on petrol for a while and see if it still pops up on petrol.

Update, better late than never, new u/s lambda probes both sides, new water pump, new alternator, car has been sweet for a year, for some reason the p0116 code has never came back, maybe changing the bulk of the coolant sorted it
