Flashing LEDs on dash fuel level indicator - BRC system?

On my BRC system I have found a couple of times recently, that after filling up that I have had all four green LEDs flashing on the LPG fuel level indicator on the dashboard.

The change over from petrol to gas is indicated to occur as normal and the four LEDs indicate the tank is full. When I stop the car and restart (usually after mile or so) the indicators go back to normal.

What is this telling me?

Probably implies that the ECU is receiving an out of range tank level sender reading, e.g if ECU expects level sensor to send 1v minimum with full tank and 4v maximum with empty tank, but ECU reads 0.2v or 5v, then gauge might flash. Could be that gauge needs recalibrating in software, sender unit has an area of operation where it doesn't work properly (like a scratchy volume control on an old radio), bad earth to level sender (maybe earthed to same point as tank solenoid, which pulls voltage up due to tank solenoid electrical load).

Both those sound plausible, I had the two solenoids relaced before Christmas as they had failed due to corrosion. that may mean the earth could be bad and after 70,000 miles maybe the sender's resistance track is worn.

I will monitor the situation and then decide what to do.

Normally comes on if tank overfills but does go away had it happen to me.

If gauge generally works but flashes when full, chances are ECU gauge settings need adjustment..

That's exactly how mine behaves. There are some pumps that give a bit more gas before shutoff and my BRC tends to flash at me for a few miles after I've used one of them.
It's not a problem that lasts long in a Jeep.

Laughs must be contagious today, reverse situation is ticklish too: Lights on your gauge not going out fast enough you say... Soon sorted! Bring it in, we'll tune it so it uses fuel quicker

I've had the same lights flashing on a brc system, it states in the brc manual it means tank is overfilled. Also says lights will return to normal within a few miles driving and it should not be of any concern.

Out of range includes overfilled readings but if the tank is not actually overfilling it will only be out of range because gauge ECU calibration is incorrect, a gauge wiring problem or defective gauge sender unit. Owner's manual will state 'overfilled' as it will presume the installer followed installer manual on choosing correct sender, wired it in properly calibrated it properly and sender unit is working properly.
