Re: BEST LPG CONVERSION IN BIRMINGHAM
I might be more convinced of your fitting abilities if you could also write correct English prose. Your choice of web hosting is similarly unconvincing due to the horrendously long time it takes to download.
If I can't break it nobody can. Failures to date: Nil! ;)
Re: BEST LPG CONVERSION IN BIRMINGHAM
what does his "English prose" have to do with his ability to fit a system?
also the website loads fine for me

Re: BEST LPG CONVERSION IN BIRMINGHAM
The post has been severely edited to remove the atrocious English. How can I trust someone with a safety issue like LPG conversion - which requires a lot of reading material to be understood - if they cannot write English with the correct spelling, punctuation and grammar?
However the site is loading normally now, but earlier it was well and truly stuffed.

Re: BEST LPG CONVERSION IN BIRMINGHAM
I overlooked this until now...
pic2 - injectors not secured, gas distribution manifold not secured, unnecessarily long injector pipes, different length injector pipes, messy pipe routing, system unnecessarily needs to be shifted to access spark plugs?
pic3 - ditto pic2, plus LPG ECU mounted where BMW air filter should be (if K&N filter wasn't fitted, by someone...)?
pics4&5 - tank seems to be an old design external toroidal, could've got better capacity with a full toroidal, tank not secured properly (could slide back and forth through those straps - wonder if it is braced against the underside of vehicle)?
pic6 - injectors mounted wrong orientation and might be prevent engine cover from being refitted?
pic7 - ditto points about pics 1 & 2?
pic8 - woman wearing far too many clothes... maybe this is a pic of the installer looking where to staple gas pipes to on this next install! Apparently there's a groove in the under-carriage where gas pipe could be channelled on this model.. Might suggest routing pipe there and using Faro pipe with isolation clips to prevent any pipe rot due to electrolysis in the damp location.
Thrown on in a day easily achievable...

pic1 - Multivalve on internal tank mounted at incorrect angle (both in terms of not 30deg above horizontal and valve on tank rotated clockwise), possible no securing of vent pipes to tank, possible wiring or filler piping somehow branching out of vent pipe?classicswede wrote:How about a game of spot the error

Re: BEST LPG CONVERSION IN BIRMINGHAM
I certainly wouldn't put the conversion I saw the other day as 'the best LPG conversion in Birmingham'
Mind you it was in Worcestershire at the time.
Maybe it looks better from Birmingham !!

Re: BEST LPG CONVERSION IN BIRMINGHAM
I'm sad to say I have seen worse than these photos. Most distressing thing is that the car owners don't realise that they have a poor installation.
Come on people, would you pay a bricklayer who built a crooked wall or a painter who painted over your glass and brickwork when you asked him to do your windows? So why accept this?
Go out and pay good money for a decent car and trash it trying to save a few hundred quid. Does it make sense?

Re: BEST LPG CONVERSION IN BIRMINGHAM
I'm sure I have said this before. If you need a gas boiler installing in your house. Do you go for the cheapest. Not bother with regulation and find the company that will chuck it at the wall and be out the door in 2 hrs ?
But they are £600 cheaper than everyone else ? Is that a consideration ?
Or is safety, quality of fit, correct accreditation for your home insurance ??
So why oh why would you do that to your car. And you arnet going to be potentially slinging your house down the road at 90 with your family in it ?
Makes no sense does it ?

Re: BEST LPG CONVERSION IN BIRMINGHAM
We're all agreed.
Also worth saying - there's how well it is fitted, which we're all talking about above, and then there's how well it runs, which we haven't really touched upon above.
A vehicle with drive-ability issues might be considered a worse install than anything seen above. If, say, the above Beemer doesn't cut out on deceleration but an identical Beemer converted elsewhere does cut out on deceleration, you can bet the driver of the second Beemer would consider his install less safe and less properly converted than the first.
Installs that are fitted poorly are often also set up poorly but by no means is every tidy and safely fitted install set up properly.

Re: BEST LPG CONVERSION IN BIRMINGHAM
Does anyone know how Save-Car LPG in Oldbury rate? Prices are good. They are Prins Approved apparently and also UKLPG approved. Just wondering about them as never hear anything about them. Good or bad thing?
Re: BEST LPG CONVERSION IN BIRMINGHAM
Are you in the Oldbury area mate? I was wondering what Tesco near Glencoe was like
I hear LPGC in Yorkshire are pretty good!

Re: BEST LPG CONVERSION IN BIRMINGHAM
Nothing bad mate! Maybe too much of an in-joke that mostly only installers that frequent the forum will get... bit of fun and not at your or Save-Car's expense.
There have been instances of a minority of installers fishing for compliments with similar posts (posting under other names) but I know that's not the case with your post, just that your post was similar to some of those posts.
