Hello All,
Bit bored of having a small tank range of 200 miles. So I'd like to add another tank.
Prefereably a cylinder one that can stretch across the boot above the torodial one in the wheel well.

I imagine I would then need two T sections. One for the Feed and Supply for the LPG.
Then a Multivalve and pipes to vent outside.

Can anyone supply me something cheap or used for this project.

Rather not go new now I've kinda got me head around everything.


This way I can get a range maybe double that I have now making long weekend away trips cheaper due the Gas in Birmingham being far cheaper than most places. (Not that it will offset the cost of the tank).

Got two 35 litre sill tanks off a Range Rover ? Any good ?

adding a second tank is something I have often thought about, given that the powers that be are unlikely to approve of me towing a trailer mounted "bowser style" tank, then a boot cylinder seems most likley.

What are the issues involved with dual tanks. Isn't there a requirement in the COP that says tanks must be fitted with valves that prevent fuel flowing from one to another (or am I thinking of diesel tanks in canal boats?) How would you ensure both fill evenly and you don't end up with one machine gunning the ullage valve whilst the other continues to fill?

is there a valve that emties one tank then switches automatically (like a caravan) or do you use both at once?

There is already non return arrangements built into modern valves.
The feed to the front should incorporate a non return tee between the two tanks. It's basically a tee with a ball bearing in a race. So when the pressure drops, the pressure on the good tank forces the ball bearing up or down the race to shut the empty tank off.

Tubbs yes I guess they would work. So long as they are pretty small ish I could place them in the boot.
Are they multivalve versions?

Can anyone tell me best place to get one of these non-return tees that Tubbs is talking about ?

It would be on 8mm pipelines.

Every LPG kit supplier will have them.

Obviously I've not been googling hard enough
