Sagging Rear end! A question for installers.

Hi all,
Has anyone had customers come back to them about the rear of their car's sagging due to the weight of the tank?

It's just my jag's rear has dropped 20-25mm because of the 97L tank.

Sounds like you suspension is knackered, the car should cope with the weight of a large rugby player.

97 litres will be 78 usable, and 78 litres of LPG will weigh 47 kgs. That plus the weight of the tank is probably no more than a decent boot full of luggage. Definitely sounds like your springs are shot. Doesn't the Jag have air assisted self levelling suspension or is that only the Jag Jags and not the Ford Jags?

No air suspension on the S Type.
Well my last S Type (which had the same tank fitted and sagged 20mm) I fitted a full set of springs/shocks from a 30k car and it dropped the same at rear after fitting them.
And now it's the same on my new S Type, so I think it's down to jags soft springs.

Try a couple of those rubber spring assisters that fit between the coils.

No, mate... But you could expect it to be a little lower at the back with a full tank of gas? Not so low as to be a problem, and not as low as it would be with a couple of adults sat in the back seat or with some luggage in the boot?

That's what it looks like (2 adults in the back) all the time!

I think a pair of rubber spring assistors is the way to go.
