Venting

I have a toroidal tank to put in the car which is of a suitable size but had almost decided it wasn't suitable being an under the car tank, really. Then I found this thread showing a similar tank installed in a Lexus. (My own is the correct size so no panel beating required).
Q. Should'nt the feed pipe be housed in an additional sealed flexi tubing exiting the boot and not as seen here just going direct to the Nozzle valve? Isn't some sort of venting necessary from the box?

The pipes need not be sleeved, though it could be a good idea when exposed in a luggage compartment.
There is a vent, note the elephant's trunk pipe on the valve box exit below the feed outlet.
