lpg problems in tiptree essex

hi i am having problems with my lpg izusu it runs rough after change over from petrol to lpg.i paid £130 to be told it may be my injectors, is this correct ? if so should I go back to the engineer and get a price from him or could I do it my self ps I know nothing about cars.

I don't see how we could tell from here. Certainly a possibility. They are not easy to diagnose, and its really a case of eliminating other more likely culprits first, so guessing that's what your man did.

Replacement often seems straightforward, but the system will need setting up again afterwards. There is also the possibility that replacement with a different type could be more economic, or the original type may not even be avaialble anymore. This would need yet more fettling.

The one that gave you the diagnosis would seem like the best bet - if I was a pro I'd be reluctant* to carry out work purely on someone else's diagnosis. And at least with the guy you have been to, if it turns out to be something else you have the comeback of "But you said it was just the injectors"...

*I learnt that lesson the hard way when someone brought me an old Alfa which had been diagnosed with a failed heater motor. Not wanting to pay garage hourly rates they asked me to do the job…after 8 hours removing and reinstalling the dashboard I found it was the resistor pack which was easily accesssible under the glovebox
