Running rich when braking

#1 Post by bob hale »

Hello, I am still having problems with LPG on my Rolls Silver cloud 1956 It starts and runs well, but if you brake a little bit hard it gets choked up. I have changed the vaporizer over, but it does not make a diference .Help Please Regards Bob

Have you investigated the possibility of ram air effect ? Quite common on mixers, as you coast or pull up to brake the air gets forced past the mixer blowing the gas away from the venturi. Disperse the air either by blanking off the forward air to the carbs, or leave the filter off and see if its any better.

There are still some unanswered questions to the original thread.

What make of vapouriser do you have? How is it mounted? Does the air intake face forwards?

Also where abouts are you? A quick visit could have the problem solved for you
