MG ZS with BRC fitted

Hi,

My ZS keeps switching off the LPG (beeping) under hard acceleration, doesn't matter how much fuel is in the tank..
its only done 12000 miles since it was fitted..

is there any diagnostics in the BRC system i can read (yes i have the BRC Sequent plug and drive software - but don't know how to use it)

any thoughts or help greatly appreciated

Has the fault bee there ever since the system was installed or is this a problem that has only just started? Are you still under warranty?

no its just started to happen... although since it started doing this ,I have serviced it .. to try and remove any doubt

it does it whether its hot or cold

not sure on the warranty...

its a 1.6 K series engine

Have a close look at the LPG vaporiser/regulator, it might say "Genius 1500" or suchlike - that would mean 1500mbar (ish) operating pressure.
While you're there, check the skinny vacuum pipe and the rest of its run for splits etc.

You can use your software to look at readings while running on gas - you're looking for the relative gas pressure, called "delta P" or suchlike. It should stay around '1500' or whatever you found from idle tio full load.

If you had the system fitted, it should have a 2 year warranty from your installer. You are supposed to have it checked at 1,000 miles and then serviced at 12,000 or 12 months, whichever comes first.

You need to be careful playing with the software if you don't know what you're doing because there are lots of things that you can inadvertantly change without realising that can cause the symptons you currently have.

I would say you need to talk to your installer unless you have bought the car with it already installed, in which case it may not be practical if the distance is too great. In this case you should take it to your local BRC installer for service and repair.
