low gas pressure

I can't switch to lpg. Ok I can work the switches but I am getting very low LPG pressure.
Took the vapour filter off and got no hiss or smell, so looks like the gauge is reading correctly. My system is a stag 300 on a 3l s-type jaguar. Large doughnut tank in the spare wheel well, with a solenoid valve there, and another solenoid valve at the liquid filter just before the vapouriser.

Whats the accepted safe method for checking that the solenoid valves are working?

where is the nearest LPG installer to Basingstoke?

First off can you hear both solenoids opening when powered?

Is the manual valve on the tank open?

as should have been obvious, I know how to do the electrical checks. What I needed to know, still do is what is the recommended safe way to check if the valve part of a solenoid valve is working?

If there isn't a safe way, then it looks like having to replace both valves.

Re the manual valve. Would I expect that to close all by itself when the car is running? It looks like a multi turn screw in valve (to close)

Finally, is there an LPG installer in or near Basingstoke?

If the vaves clonk, they are working, hence the question.
Pull off a gas hose, at the vapour filter say; should really get a 'phut' as it should stay pressurised at rest.
Hotwire the solenoids to activate, see if gas comes out.

Hi all,
right so in fact its the positive supply to the multivalve that is not working. Got a get me home fix by running a new positive lead from the solenoid to a switched positive, and I guess this weekend I will be playing find the break in a cable. Best guess is it will be at one or other of the connectors, or where it goes through a right angle somewhere.

Heres a question for those in the know, could I just tie a rare earth magnet to the valve in place of the solenoid? would that work or is it not going to be powerful enough?

Valve is one of the SAFETY FEATURE of you installation, do it if you want to blow up yourself...
and no, it won't work...

Why do you think the solenoid is there, rather than just a tap? It is unwise to defeat safety features.

It's not that unusual for a break in the cable - they run underneath, PVC can get nicked by stones or melted by exhaust, then winter roadsalt eats the copper. It may pay just to run a new length throughout, out of harms way. Ceretainly worth looking for a rubbish termination first though.
