King SIS kit for £210. How?

Any idea how Tinley Tech sell this King SIS mini-kit for 3 or 4-Cylinder Engines for £210 plus VAT? Does it sound OK?

Its only a front end kit and looks like you'd still need to buy the petrol injector loom and some other cables and it doesn't come with any pipes but that still seems rediculously cheap to me.

Its got a King ECU which is just a rebadged AEB one and has OBD connection capability and comes with a Zavoli Zeta N reducer/vaporisor.
Only thing is its got a Valtek type 30 injector rail which from reading some posts on here people don't rate too highly but i assume you could always upgrade those to something else easily enough.

What do people think? Is it worth it, or wold i be better spending another £100-£150 for something altogether better?

But if you compare it with the Bigas kit (http://www.tinleytech.co.uk/acatalog/Bigas_.html), the King is the very bare minimum. You'd still need to buy the wiring loom, shut-off valve and filter, hoses, Tees, etc that all come with the Bigas kit for an extra £80. You'd probably spent that much on the odds and sods. I suppose they are trying to compete with the other suppliers that do sell you a cheap (usually Polish) kit on the face of it but you soon find out that there's a load more bits you need.

The King 8 cylinder kit looks interesting for me to use to upgrade my P38 from singlepoint to multipoint (especially as TT are only about 20 miles from me). I've already got everything up to the shut-off valve that can stay where it is. Although I'd see if I could go for injectors in pairs rather than blocks of 4 to make the install a bit neater.

From recent posts it seems that current 30's aren't as bad as they used to be. Admittedly they aren't going to last for a million miles but aren't too bad and are cheap enough to replace in 50,000 miles time.

Yes thats a very good price. Richard has always always tried to be as competitive as possible and has to compete with the likes of autogas-lpg. Its very interesting times for the lpg market at the moment. Its maturing finally. Which forces down prices at a component level. Westport buying omvl, emer, valtek etc seemed to be the start of it all.
So all the manufacturers will be looking at how to take up the market share. Which will make everything a bit cheaper. Once consolidated it will level off again.

But why do they sell the Emer systems to trade only or US customers? Have you done a deal with them to protect your market share Tubbs?

Bloody hell, what kind of hold do you think i have on Tinley Tech? The answer is none at all. Richard is his own man. But he has been in the industry for a good while. Its all too easy to ruin the reputation of a decent system by letting all and sundry install it. Have problems and then say its rubbish when it isnt. Its just down to poor installation generally. So that was his decision i believe. Because its not been on the market too long and didnt have a reputation at all. So better off to start with a good one....

Gilbertd, it sounds like the King mini kit comes with just the main loom so i'm asssuming a loom for the injectors and pressure and temperature sensors would also need buying.

As my van is already running a basic open loop system its already got the filter/shutoff valve fitted and all the water pipes running to the reducer/vaporisor which i'm hoping i can still resuse as i plan on fitting the reducer/vaporisor in the same location as the one i have fitted at the moment.

Yea but you don't need it if you set it up right. The aeb kits stay in tune for ages if you practice and get them really close. Must admit it sounds tempting though.

got a cheap king kit in my wifes rover 25 its not bad but the injectors are rubbish and you have to start on petrol for a minimum of 25 seconds also you cannot change the fuel trims from positive to negative so on the rover its tuned backwards ie leaner towards higher revs if that makes sense so setting up was a bit of a pain as you have to keep remembering to opposite all the values that said it runs well we get 31 to the gallon and its now done 10000 miles without a problem apart from some dodgy gas in poland which caused the engine warning light to come on all in i reckon it cost me in bits about 350 and a long time on the phone to tubbs to set it up thanks mate

You must be getting pissed off with having to fill that poxy little tank I gave you though. But yes at 10k, 31 to the gallon and £350 it's more than paid for itself by now. That's happy motoring

we get about 250 ish miles to that tank if im driving and about 280 if angela is driving

Oh thats not too bad. Obviously we have very similar driving styles. I get 190 out of my wifes beetle. She gets 220.
Makes you think though. If you drove like your misses then you get a whole 30 miles per tank more. Which she makes me constantly aware of ! So she certainly does make me think about it. I try to point out that life really is too short to drive like a granny.... She also points out the state of my driving licence, which is at the moment and for the first time in years, absolutely pointless !
