For a while now my OMVL single point system has been playing up. Some mornings it will change to gas some times it wont. I have changed both solenoids, either side of the filter housing. Sometimes when changing from petrol to gas (carb set up not efi) and after the petrol has been used up if i turn ignition off, then back on whilst on the gas setting you can here the solenoid activating and it will start and run on gas.
The only thing I have not tried is renewing the change over switch (3 stage), system is about 3 years old. Any help appreciated, next step is a new system!

When you say you changed both solenoids - do you mean just the coils, or the valve assembly as well? What were the old ones like? Any sign of the internals being stuck or breaking-up?
It could be that one or both of the valves are sticking, and turning the ignition off and on might give them a bit of a jolt to make them stay open.
You can check that the coils are working by putting an ammeter in series with the 12 volt feed to them - if they are drawing current, they should be OK - but can you tell if you are getting pressure as far as the vap?
I'm assuming that the gas isn't getting as far as the diffuser on the carb, so you need to work out which side of the vap is causing the problem.
Have you checked the filters and pipes for blockages?
Do you have an interface lead and software?

Did take valve assembleys off, no gunk inside springs seemed ok, filter all ok, have not yet tested with ammeter, Gas is getting as far as filter because if i carefully slack filter cover its pressurised. When its on gas its fine, thanks for the info, will put meter on it and see what readings I get.
