Newbie LPG system problem

Hi all,
Recently purchased a Jeep cherokee 4.0l with an OMVL Dream XXI N LPG system fitted.
After filling it up two days ago, I can drive more than about 10 miles without the indicator bleaping at me telling me I'm out of gas (which is incorrect).
If I then pull over, switch off then switch on again, it resets itself to four grren lights and I can cabby on again for another 10 or so miles before it happens again.
I'm new to LPG so dont really even know where to start!
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Depends on how your skills on cars are... and if your wanting to fix it yourself....

The most likely cause is the LPG has not been serviced for a long time and the filters are blocked, if you feel confident then you could buy the filters and change them over and then see how it runs...

Or for peace of mind, we should be able to recommend someone who will service and sort things out and that cost will be recovered very quickly

Hi agin,
I'm pretty handy with a set of spanners so no problems there, just a bit inexperienced with LPG although changing filters would be no problem at all.
Dont want to spend a packet if I can help it having only just purchased the vehicle but if a proper gaff is the best way forward, so be it,

Depends on how you look at it, your not far from Rossko so i think he should see this soon and give you a quote, then you can make your mind up. Filters can be expensive so think about that before thinking a service is a costly thing, they do more than just change the filters and give you it back

If your wanting to change the filters, you need to identify what you have then go on tinley-tech and order them up, changing them is straight forward although make sure you run the gas down in the lines (unplug the rear solenoid) before undoing anything

Sounds like the beeping your getting is the system pulling up a fault rather that running out of gas. If the engine needs to be turned off and on before the swith will operate its a fault, not low pressure. Get it plugged in and the faults read.

The OP knows he hasn't run out of gas, but what makes you think low pressure isn't a "fault"? What makes you think all systems will immediately recover from low pressure (or truly empty tank come to that) by poking the switch? It certainly could be anything else instead of course, so investigation would indeed be good.

I should make clear that "having a look" is chargeable ... there are limits to free consultancy

Ok, so replaced the filters and checked smooth operation of the solenoid operated plunger (which was fine) but has made no difference to the fault.
Still tells me theres no LPG after a couple of miles, switch off then on again and its fine again for a few miles.

Time to get it plugged in I think.....
