Hello from a new member! Can anyone give me some guidance?

Hello one and all. Thanks for taking the time to read my post. I am wondering if you guys could give me some advice on a few lpg related matters?
I have a problem with the lpg on my motor (which I will go into on the 'having problems?' section later) but would appreciate some advice on how to identify the system I have installed in this car. The motor itself is an imported v6 chevvy and the system was installed in the UK as an after-market job about 5 years ago although the previous owner had lost all the paperwork. Doh! It had been working like a dream since i bought it but suddenly stopped working on Friday. I realise that as soon as i ask technical questions of the fine members of this site they will, quite rightly, respond with "what type of this and what type of that do you have fitted?" and i dont have a clue what the answer is. I am quite an experienced diy mechanic but have ZERO experience with gas. If anyone could fill me in on what i should be looking for for identification purposes and what different types of systems there are i would be most grateful. Hi, firstly, work out if it is single point or multipoint. Is a carb engine or is it injection? if carb its going to be a single point mixer system, if injection- does it have gas injectors (multipoint) or a mixer ring on the air intake (single point). Is there any sign of a lpg ecu - If its multipoint there will be one for sure, if single point then possibly not. If there is a ecu what name is on the lable.
Failing that take a couple of pictures of the change over switch and the engine bay and post a link on here one of us will know what it is.
