Autogas Solutions Corby / Hitchin (now called LPG Power Ltd)

Not going to go into much detail here as the end solution is still the same....but briefly
Had the focus lpg installed by them and had few problems, which were eventually solved.
Then they moved away to hitchin and after a while i had the same problem come back (bank 1 running lean) - i could not find a local installer that would touch the system as they knew nothing about the make (oscar-n i think it is)
Eventually found out where they went to (hitchin) but they said they are coming back to Corby in a few months so leave it until then. (that was oct / nov 2011 time)
They have now come back so i went to see them but they could not fit it in until the following week (not even look at it) - to busy talking forign on his mobile phone
So i went back and because i have had the filter changed they will not touch it as because someone else has touched the system its invalidated the "warrenty"
I kind of expected that when i got there as now he has the money he is not interested in sorting out the problem
Even called a few dealers up and they said that an oiler (flashlube) should be installed on all fords but he will only fit it at an extra cost as it was not "in the price"
The "warrenty" is now worthless, unless you get it serviced by them - but they left no forwarding address or any contact info.
If you get your car done there - hope that nothing goes wrong as the aftersales service and warrenty is not worth the paper its printed on.
Good luck if you decide to get it done there!!
Now i have to try and find someone who will sort out the mess they have left and if needed get a flashlube fitted

Oh Dear, Oh Dear.
Funnily enough i spent most of yesterday putting an oscar-n install right. I'm not saying it had anything to do with them by the way. It really gets my goat this type of thing. A system should be serviced at regular intervals, gas filters etc. So i cant see how that would invalidate the warranty really.
Unfortunately we see a lot of this kind of thing from the cheaper end of the market. A lot of the installers involved don't seem to be from the Uk.
I'm sure there are many good companies from Europe over here. But all he companies we hear about on this forum are generally doing bad or unsafe installs and shying away from any problems.
Its a real shame, and im ever so sorry you have had a problem. But the lesson to be learned is that cheap is not necessarily the best bet. If you want a decent install then find a company that has been around a while in the uk that don't do installs in a day. It just gives the whole industry a bad name.
But they arnet bothered after all. Because a lot of them arnet into it for the long game. If it all turns sour they will either move and set up somewhere else or go back to europe.

Sorry to hear your troubles. I have seen 2 of their conversions that local people have and they don't look bad in all honesty and run well. I know that's not much use to you but what you can get from me saying that is I bet it just needs setting up properly and Flashlube fitting. If you can bite the bullet and forget about the original fitters, and get it tuned properly by someone else, say the lpg guys in Finedon or the other place in Corby, then fit Flashlube yourself. It's very easy to fit, then you will have a system that will run for years and save loads. A tiny few people have teething problems at first with lpg but I think the company who fitted yours do fit them properly, you just caught them at a bad time so the install can be easily fixed for a small outlay even though you should'nt have to do that.
Once the system is running well you will soon forget with all the money you will be saving, good luck.

in fairness if you buy a car from a garage your warranty is with that garage, not another one.

they didn't update their website? there is both a landline and mobile number there aswell as an email address.

im 25k miles too late then

now you dont know that, you warranty was deemed invalid as someone else touched it, if you had left it alone they may have they may have honoured the warranty.

No probs buddy...all conversions are good until they go wrong! - my bmw (installed somwhere else) had 1 or 2 problems at the start but he never gave up and got it sorted - I know it probably needs setting up again but i have tried that place in Finedon but they have said that they dont have the software to look at it - I know of 2 cars that have the same problem that need looking at but we dont like running around with the energy management light constantly on.
Any suggestions?

The fault is "Bank 1 is running lean" (i think its the same on the other car to but would have to check with my mate what it exaxctly says)
Thanks

100% positive
if you look here:
http://autogassolutions.co.uk/lpg-conversion-why-us
That is the autogas solutions website but under guarantees to "protect you" it says:
At ‘Autogas Experts UK LTD’ we are so confident in our product, that we offer a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty (parts and labour).
The website for Autogas experts is:
http://autogasexperts.co.uk/
which has the same contact phone number
And finally LPG Power Ltd if you search:
http://www.192.com/atoz/business/corby- ... b01c99/ml/
Has the same address and postcode as autogas solutions also shows the same website address

I have had an independant expert look at the system (emailed photographs & gave details etc) and he believes the one they have installed is a very cheap copy of another system and it is not very good
He is coming over in the next few days to hopefully sort it out so will update you all in due course

A copy of an Oscar n ? Surely not. That would just be too shoddy for words ! They wenet exactly good to begin with. Ok they are running omvl components, magic injectors and reducers but they aren't exactly 'top end' are they.

Installers will only telll you their system is best if that is all they fit. There are a number of installers who fit different systems.
I am certified to fit 7 different systems and would recommend the one that best suits your car or the one that i have had most reliable running with a certain car.
Some systems can't cope with the diffrent type of injector pulses seen on BMW's Oscar N may be one of them.
The BMW's pulse the injector and then can put up to three small pulses at the and of the modulation. this can throw a spanner in the works with some systems.

That has just gone above my head! lol
So the bloke came (very pleasent chap)
He looked at the install of both cars and said the install was pretty neat and tidy - just a few remarks made but in general the install was good. There were 1 or 2 things he was unsure about (like a straight solid dark blue line) as he had never seen this system before but he will get back in touch after the "homework" is done.
So looks like the install was good with the company - its just the aftersales that let them down
