So i have started a new thread. Just so you can all catch up (if you are interested remotely) i did an alfa for a chap a few weeks ago. A few members wanted pics, so i said i would oblige as i was doing a mk4 toyota supra this last week. Its a straight 6 normally aspirated, using the EMER system that im always banging on about.
So just to get you up to speed....
I was confronted by this

Which after a lot of head scratching and fabrication eventually turned into this

The finished product doesnt look too bad, now if you are using a flexible gas tight box, this is what i chose because they are smaller and i was worried about obscuring the view from the back window. But EMER make extendable vent hose which when working with a 'condom' makes the job far easier.

So the veiw from inside is great, it doesn't obscure anything really from the drivers seat.

So we move on, front to rear was a breeze, dropped straight out and along side of the brake lines straight up into the engine bay.
And what an engine bay !

after a bit of head scratching i got started, working out where everything was going to go, plumbed in the reducer coolant hoses, gas line and vapour filter.

It would have fitted there, until i noticed hidden away was the L/P connector for the aircon, been a bit of a bugger had the chap popped into kwik fit for a cheap old air con regas !
So i think we are ready for the finished photos. Notice the injector rails standing up nicely, nice and warm, nessled in the heart of the engine.
Still set the change over temp to 40 degrees though. When it hits it the gas rail temp is already at 25.

Oh and does it go, hell yeh ! Absolutely full of beans, it was slightly boggy between 2500 and 3k initially on the autocal map but then clean as a whistle. Too much gas, so i leaned the system off. At the max the the injector timings touch 17ms. No pressure drop at all really, holds just below a steady 1.4 bar.
2.6mm nozzles.

Looks great! Is the flashlube needed on these engines then?

I don't know if this guy is missing it, but there's a recoiled boot curtain/blind thingy that would probably stretch over that tank quite happily.

No, he isn't missing it. Dont think it's going to fit though. The locating lugs are lower than the tank.
But he did say he would have a go at adapting it. It's all good though. Nice chap. Hope he has many (cheaper) miles out of it. I have to say I wasnt too taken with it at first, loud as hell, harsh acceleration, but it grew on me over the week. My unit is a big grain barn. I tell you when you start it in there you can hear it for miles !
I was quite sad to see it go in the end.

looks tight in there but I have to say you should have seen under the bonnet on my Twin Turbo version I had a few years ago

Oh i have, and one of those 300 zx nissan thingy's. Mind you its pretty tight under the bonnet of an s4 too.
